Little harder to install than expected. Maybe our sliding glass door is old and different than most current models but we ended up having to cut a piece from the bottom to get it to fit. Seemed like it might not hold well but we have 5 dogs from 10 to 65 lbs and it’s held up for 4 months so far. Had to do a lot of insulating around edges (again maybe because of old door) but overall it’s been great!

I have a standard patio door and it doesn't fit , I'll have to cut the bottom of the door of 1 inch to make it fit in the groove of the door , very disappointed,it says it fit most door , which is wrong or would work on a standard size patio door , also came in a big Bang up , nothing crazy worth returning but still bang up , also seem reused

This thing has performed perfectly for your 3 dogs going into our yard. A year in, it has no signs of breaking or wearing out. Best purchase we’ve made for the house (aside from a new furnace).

Really nice and well built. It was 1 1/2 inches too tall for my sliding door but I was able to cut it down to size and get it too fit. I recommend buy your own Minimal Compression Weatherstrip tape. This item is a LOT better than your standard single pane glass inserts. Really makes a big difference in keeping out the cold.

I wanted a hefty product to stand up to the Colorado winter. The fit and finish is exactly what I wanted. If you have a single rail down in the door tract, I recommend notching out the bottom for a perfect tight fit. I used a dremel, but I suppose a hacksaw would do.

Update: returning door, should be better made for the money. I may try them again and swe if the door was a fluke on being crooked.I like the doors double panel glass and 3 flaps but when you put the two door pieces together they are not level meaning the gap in my door is about 1/2inch at the top and 1 inch at the bottom. Like the door is warped. For the amount of money I expected more. I need the door so I will buy some different weather strip and jerry rig the door the best I can. I had a single panel dog door same brand that fit fine, same brand so it isn't my sliding door.

I purchased this for my balcony door to see if my dogs would actually use it before I committed to cutting a hole in my ground level exterior wall. The door was easy to install but I did use extra weather stripping to help insulate against drafts. The door itself is 3 layers and stiff but even sealed at -20°c. The quality is great.

We live in NH and so far the doggie door has been great. My husband had to do some rigging to get it in, but it’s been effective at keeping the cold out! This door is in my office so I needed something that wouldn’t cool the room down so quickly, it does the job. The rigging is why I didn’t give 5 stars, function is 5 stars! Large size is perfect for my 83 lb lab and a 40 lb beagle terrier mix.

I have had this door installed for 1 day and it is getting returned. The flap sits more than 1/4" above where it should connect with the bottom door frame. Please see the 1st Pic of the light that can be seen between the flap and the door frame. We were in a major retailer today and they had a display of this manufacturer's line and we saw a non-insulated version that had adjustable sliding screws that would fix this problem but our model doesn't have that feature. We were also very disappointed in the overall lack of quality in this door. Minimal craftsmanship and doesnt look like it will hold up to the test of time.Last but not least, about half the times my dogs go out, the flap stays partially open (see other pics) - sometimes about an inch away from sealing. I live in Michigan and cannot have the equivalent of a hole in my house going into the winter. I purchased this because it was significantly less than a competitor's model but I am going to swallow hard and buy up. Hope it's worth it!

Ok so my husband and I who are both very handy looked around for the accessories for this door for ages we tore up that box lol only to realize that they were inside the door flaps omg we felt so stupid however once that was over we installed it and it worked perfectly. now my complaints the weather stripping they send with it doesn’t seem to stay attached we ended up gluing screwing and yelling at it because the draft is a definite issue in Canadian winter still I love it I just wish it was easier to get the weather sealing in place because it’s cold

In theory, this pet door is awesome. I had a PerSafe dog door at my last house and my dog loved it so I thought I would put in another at my new place. This time I needed one for a sliding door. It was easy to put together but I didn’t realize since the sliding door is on a ‘monorail’ track, this dog door won’t sit properly on the track without an adapter piece or cutting notches in the bottom of the panel. Aside from that, it’s great.

I was immediately surpriseed by the quality of and heavy duty construction of this dog door in comparison to my existing single pane uninsulated Petsafe door (which i have had for 25 yrs). Here are pros: 1. Very quality materials and manufacturing. 2. excellent insulating. 3.Easy to insall. Here are the Cons: 1. The door comes as 2 parts which are joined by inserting 2 metal connectors that have predrilled set screw holes. What the instructions didnt say, but i recommend, is to stand the 2 pieces up on edge ON A LEVEL FLOOR as you install the set screws. otherwise the wont be square or air tight (as i found out). 2. They provided insulation for 1 side and they anticipated the other side would abut the existing sliding dr weather stripping (which it did, but no insulation stripes were provided for the top, bottom or middle where the 2 pieces join. Minor issues since i already had some on hand.
