Bait and switch.Product not what pictured.They work, but I picked this item, and paid more, because it didn't look as cheezy as the less expensive one.What did I get ? Pin vises that look just as cheezy as the set I could have got for almost half the price, NOT THE SET PICTURED. Very disappointing.

Clamping action is not smooth, Sometimes threaded nut binds. Split in jaws is not centered. Avoid this item.

I purchased PH PandaHall 30 Size Mandrels, Stainless Steel Mandrel Dowels for Wire Wrapping on Amazon. This was after purchasing a Mister Twister Hand Coiler. I thought this twister coiler would give me 'clean' wire wraps for head pins. The twister #2 mandrel plating chipped and though stated stainless steel, the mandrel seemed to have too much give and eventually gave a little bend. Continued use would have it breaking off at the stem. This tool also had you using 1/2" of wire every time. EVERYTIME. That adds up. In searching for a stainless steel mandrel the PandaHall set was it. NOW what I didn't think of in advance was a holding tool and this 4 piece vice set was IT! ALSO when setting a mandrel in the vice - there is just enough area to 'hook' my wire and begin winding around the SS mandrel confidently without wasting too much wire. The first image is of a wrap before the SS mandrels and the second is a clean wire wrap using the SS mandrels and a vice. VERY PLEASED AND IMPRESSED!

They are heavy duty and 2 of the 4 Vices work, but the other 2 vices have a collet that isn't drilled correctly. When you put a pin into the largest fo the vices, the pin is at a significant angle to the handle. I thought this was just a bad set and returned for another set and had the exact same issue. This set is cheap and you get what you pay for with these.

I don't know what you could use these for. My experience with and intended use for a Pin Vise is to hold an object [such as a drill bit or any other small round material accurately centered ] centered and somewhat firmly. These do not . they are totally useless. At first site out of the box they appear to be a good tool, but try to center a small drill bit in a three jaw collet that won't close on center ---good luck.
