I was suffering from a pinched nerve and nothing was helping. Out of desperation I ordered this from Amazon and bless their hearts, it came the same day. I used it as instructed and after 3 times the pinched nerve was gone. Yay! However, it chokes you if you pull it tight enough to get the back of the pillow tight against your back neck. I managed by loosening the top velcro and tilting my head a little backwards to get the full effect on the back where it was needed. Not perfect but glad I bought it as I have arthritis in C5 and C6 so I will be using it as needed.

I bought this product looking for an alternative form of traction to help with a couple of cervical disc protrusions compressing some nerve roots. The product is pretty easy to use and inflate. It is only suitable to use in a sitting or standing position but not for wearing while lying down. It provided support so that my neck muscles could relax but provided only so-so actual traction for me. A couple of months later, a neurologist suggested I just try a plain old-school cervical collar to wear while working on computers, reading, watching TV, etc. Frankly, I haven't noticed a big difference in how my neck feels after wearing a regular cervical collar and this product. The bottom line is that it's not a bad alternative for limited stretching, relaxation of neck muscles, but for me it was not as helpful in providing actual traction.

I like that my product arrived as expected! I have worn the collar per instructions in the packaging and I am so very happy to report that I have had a very good response in just the few times of using it! Before getting my collar I was in the worst pain that I have had in a very long time, my doctor did a x-ray to find the cause of this sudden onset of pain in my neck that radiated in to the top of my head causing the worst migraine ever! It also made my neck so stiff that I couldn’t hold my head up or it would feel like I had so much pressure in my head, that if I tried to support my head on my neck, that my head was going to blow off!!! I am 51 years old pretty healthy and I have had a few different pains in different parts of my body including my back from being re ended on the freeway by a huge tracker trailer damaging my lower back but that pain was a walk in the Park compared to this neck pain! The first night all I could do was try to lay still, I cried as hard as I ever carried before! The pain medications wasn’t helping nor was the shot my doctor gave me! I was truly devastated and scarred trying to figure out how can I go through life like this and would anything make it better? I was set up with physical therapy that I haven’t started yet because they can’t get me in until October 8th! So my friend giggled my diagnosis and what could help besides medications and therapy and that’s when the neck stretcher popped up on Amazon after reading what it was supposed to help with, my friend ordered it immediately with rush delivery! She ordered it on Friday and I got it Sunday afternoon! I was skeptical not thinking anything would help this pain but low and behold after the first use I woke up feeling a LOT better! I was shocked but very happy the pain was still there but not as intense the headache had subsided and I could hold my head up a little more and for a longer period of time! I happy to report no more tears or hellacious pain!!! I am so great full for this device, the pricing, fast delivery and that it truly works and has helped me regain my faith that my neck will get better if not all the way back to normal and I haven’t even started physical therapy and I don’t have to take a lot of the pain medications!!!!!!Sherri Underwood

I wanted to write a specific review and thank the makers of this device as I can't imagine anything they could change to make it better, and its also reasonably priced. My injury: So I suffered a whiplash type injury, in an unusual way: Falling asleep wrong. I was up late in my computer chair(the one I had at the time had a low back) and when I fell asleep, my head fell backwards. I woke as this happened and startled awake. As my muscles contracted to stop my head falling backwards, I heard a sound like 2 wood blocks hitting each other, and had a VERY BAD(10 out of 10) sharp pain in my neck. I sat there holding my head for at least 10 minutes - I honestly thought I would need hospitalization for a broken neck. Worst pain of my life. However within 30 minutes I felt better, just a sore neck, and went to bed. I was very stiff and sore in the next the next day(but never thought of it being a whiplash injury, just an Im An Idiot injury. I bought a computer chair with a high back the next week.Over the next couple weeks the neck soreness went away and I wrote the whole thing off.2 years later(yes, no kidding) and I had been to the doctor a few times because I just generally got headaches more often than I had normally in my life(2-3 headache days a month, and occasionally the headaches would last 2-3 days). I had a brain MRI about a year after the injury, it showed nothing wrong, no tumors, nothing to worry about. Around 2 years from the injury(I had completely forgotten about the incident, didnt relate it to the headaches), I had started working out again and noticed my neck muscles(traps muscles) were like ROCK HARD within just a couple days of starting to work out. I thought, hey great. But then the neck pain and headaches came back, with a VENGEANCE. I would have neck pain and headache symptoms almost every day, and even had a headache that lasted a week. I woke with it, went to bed with it, would wake in the night with it, and it welcomed me to the day the next morning. I was done with whatever this nonsense was. I went back to the doctor and he found several VERY sore spots on my neck. I found moving my neck could 'amplify' the headache from its steady 2-3 (on a pain scale of 1-10) to bursts of 8-9. Take your breath away pain. He suggested I get an MRI on my head and neck. The MRI was conclusive - I had no spinal issues in terms of bulging disks or anything, but I had what the neurosurgeon who review the MRI called 'classic signs of a whiplash type injury(swelling and fluid buildup where the neck attaches to the skull).I next went to a chiropractor, who determined that the headaches were from tight muscles in my neck and shoulders, especially on the right side, holding my neck in a twisted position and pinching a nerve root on the right side. She showed me the position of my neck and the nerve root on a model in her office. She made the adjustment and BAM. What a feeling of relief. Only problem was - this relief lasted about a week. Without a way to relieve the pressure on the neck/damaged area, the muscles eventually contort the spine again, and the nerve pressure that causes the headaches returns. My neurosurgeon had suggested physical therapy to relieve the stress on the neck and break up the muscle tightness. A TENS unit, and some sort of neck traction therapy.I got the TENS, and it helped with temporary relief of pain. However once the TENS was shut off, there was no lasting effect. This device for traction therapy was different in that regard. Not only did it provide relief from pain as soon as inflated, the head rush/euphoric feeling in my head has now lasted nearly an hour after removing it. I can immediately tell that I am treating the cause of the problem instead of symptoms of the problem, with this device.THANK YOU for this great product. Wow.
