Love it so far. The little one has impressive sound, loud and good quality. Technically almost twice as loud as a normal cell phone speaker (its 5W vs phone’s less than 3W). It can be a must-have for outdoor activities like hiking etc.It is pretty easy to pair it with my one plus phone via Bluetooth. The App (Joy Audio) is optional for using this speaker with the phone but it is needed if you want to use it as a gadget, which I think is a bonus but really not essential for a speaker. The App is not in my phone's “play store” but I downloaded it smoothly by following the menu (its download speed was slower than other phone apps’ installed before). It is more than a speaker. I pulled out the secured card from my old Samsung phone and inserted it into this speaker. Now I have a standalone digital music player. Also, I like its USB-C charting port, which is kind of the standard one for newer consumer electronics. I can just charge it with my one-plus phone charger.

This product was ordered on 4 Feb 2025 and delivered on 17 Feb 2025 with no damage. This little speaker has a big, quality sound. It is the best small speaker I have listened to. The rubber cover and buttons are of lower quality. The round cover on the side will not stay in place. When I started to download the phone I got the warning that the site was not safe. Maybe because it is all new? Over all I cant recommend it even though it has a quality sound. Through your phones connection it could be awsome. I plan on a followup in 2 months to see if things change.

Be prepared for frustration when try to use the DK8 Portable Bluetooth Speaker. First off you will need a magnifying glass to read the DK8 user manual. The font is too small to read even with reading glasses. Second after an hour or so after plugging the DK8 into a charging device it will be fully charged and ready to go. Then the fun (?) begins. Be prepared for a VERY LOUD SOUND when you first turn the DK8 on. The loudness at startup is NOT adjustable. The user manual advises you to scan a QR code to download the Joy Audio app. After several attempts I went to the Play Store (Android) to discover there is NO APP for Joy Audio. After much frustration I turned off the VPN on my phone. My Phone (Samsung S23 +) was then able to download the APK file. It took almost 45 min. It is a small file - I am certain the download site is far far away since my download speed on my phone (hooked up to wifi) is over 300. After the APK file was downloaded my phone refused to install the app - I got security warnings telling me not to install the app. My son suggested I transfer the APK file to my old phone (Samsung S8) to install it. I did and it installed the app without a problem. My advice is to NOT install the Joy Audio app on your active phone. The app doesn't really do anything with the DK 8 except set the correct time and date. You can set an alarm also. It also can download pictures from your phoneMoving on, the DK 8 paired quickly with my phone and the speaker actually sounds pretty good. You can move from one song to another using the arrows on the DK 8. As a remote Bluetooth speaker I recommend the DK 8. It is easy to pair and sounds good.Next I removed a micro SD card from one of my tablets and inserted it into the DK 8. It takes a little practice with which buttons to push to get to the files on the SD card. I have my playlists as file folders on the card. DK 8 displayed the folders and allowed me to open them and play the songs inside. As with the Bluetooth music, the speaker sounds good when playing music off of the SD card. I don’t know if there are an limitations on how big the card can be. The SD card I used is 128 Gb.To sum everything up – I would avoid the time consuming issues involved with trying to download and use the Joy Audio app. The speaker works well independently of the app. The time and date will be wrong without the app. A SD card functions well in this speaker. It is nice to see displayed the titles of what is playing from the card or from the Bluetooth device. If your main interest is a good sounding small portable speaker the DK 8 would be a good choice.

The sound quality is actually decent for the speaker size. Battery life is fair the screen is easy to read and the touch sensitivity is ok, well build and looks great, but if your trying to you the apps on the device, other then the alarm and calculator, you can not do to the speaker using Chinese software that has to link to your phone or computer that is blocked for unknown sources with additional warnings. Issues adjusting clock and calender and I hate the horrible photo of the couple as the screen saver. There's a need for better software on the Android play and Apple store for connectivity and software upgrades. Regular bluetooth works fine and is easy to connect. I have not utilized the memory card slot yet. I am terrified of cracking or breaking the screen, and the light is just a novelty, no real use I leave it off to save battery
