These premixes are formulated by Premier’s own small ruminant nutritionist, Dr. Dan Morrical, PhD to contain high levels of zinc, iodine and other essential trace minerals for optimum flock health. Mix trace mineral premix with salt for stock on pasture. Finisher mixes are combined with feed for livestock being fed concentrate rations.
Supplement your feed or mineral to maximize flock health.

Common flock and herd ailments

Goat Trace Mineral Premix
A complete, free-choice trace mineral premix for goats. Contains additional copper with no added molybdenum (ties up copper) for improved immunity.
Why & how do you feed trace mineral?
Many forages and feeds lack the proper mineral amounts for sheep and goats. Trace minerals free choice (mixed with salt), or in a feed ration makes up for the lack of naturally occurring minerals. The result? Prevention of deficiencies now means fewer animals requiring treatment later on.
Add Vitamin A/D/E Premix
Vitamins in stored feed or mineral mix degrade over time. Add A/D/E Premix as feed and mineral are consumed to keep vitamin levels high.
Add to salt or to the animals' feed to supplement diets that lack fresh forage.
How to Use
Mix 5 lbs of premix with 50 lbs of plain salt.
Thoroughly mix Goat Trace Mineral Premix into 50 lbs of feed mixing salt. Provide in weekly amounts to the goat herd to prevent wastage from weathering.
Goats are expected to consume .25 oz of mixture per head per day. If goats are in confinement, also add 2 lbs of Sheep/Goat Vitamin A/D/E Premix. Our research determined that when vitamins are added to a premix, they begin to degrade and lose their effectiveness. The shepherd can slow this break down by keeping vitamins and minerals separate, until they are ready to be fed.
For herds needing calcium and phosphorous, add 20 lbs dicalcium phosphate and 10 lbs of limestone to the 55 lb salt mixture. Intake should increase to .5 oz of mixture per head per day to ensure adequate micro-mineral consumption. If intakes are not adequate, 5% molasses or processed grains can be added to increase palatability.
Always provide a source of fresh, clean water.

Ingredients
Ingredients: Zinc Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Manganese Sulfate, Mineral Oil, Calcium Carbonate, Manganous Oxide, Ethylenediamine Dihydriodide, Sodium Selenite, Ferrous Sulfate, Cobalt Sulfate.
Limestone is used as a carrier for calcium.
Precautions
CONTAINS HIGH LEVELS OF COPPER. DO NOT FEED TO SHEEP.
Goat producers should be cautious using copper oxide wire particles in addition to our goat trace mineral packs. Overuse of copper oxide wire particles for parasite control could result in copper poisoning in goats. Consult your local veterinarian on the copper status of their operations.
Intake above .25 oz per head per day will exceed the allowable FDA intake levels of .69 mg of selenium per head per day. To reduce intake of the trace mineral salt mixture, dilute with more salt and/or move feed locations further from water sources or congregation areas.
Read all warnings and cautions on label. Follow mixing and feeding instructions carefully. For livestock use only.
