My partner is actually the drummer in our house but I wanted to surprise him with this stand. I, the non drummer, was able to easily put this stand together and I must admit I was surprised at 1) How easy it was to assemble and 2) How sturdy and of nice quality it is. He was quite impressed as well with both of those things and commented on how close it seemed in quality to the pricier name brand stands out there. Needless to say this stand is a keeper and drummer (and non drummer) approved.

This boom stand has quickly become a key part of my drum setup. Its solid build and smooth adjustment mechanism make it incredibly easy to position my cymbals exactly where I need them. The stand feels very stable, and the durable construction ensures it can handle the weight of heavier cymbals without any wobbling.

These are awesome, It's just like a budget name brand starting with the letter g. Works well even with a heavy ride symbol. Pretty good chrome looks great.

I got this but it seems really flimsy. I would have really liked to see double bracing for holding larger cymbals. It looked nice but stick with a bigger stand for bigger cymbals. This one won't work.

It's sturdy enough. However, the small black plastic ring that is supposed to keep the cymbal from sliding down, broke immediately, without any fall or other physical impact I can remember. For all I know, it arrived broken. I'm not a fan of the art deco-styled wing nuts, either. They don't look very good to me, but what's more important, the weird design makes it tricky to tighten and loosen them. All in all, an okay stand, but certainly not for this price.

Edge Hardware is showing itself to be consistent. In most cases, this is a good thing. Their "premium" offerings of cymbal stands are a very good weight and construction for a intermediate stands. The rubber feet are a good size. As with the straight stand, the boom stand includes pointy wing nuts. The tips are pointy, and could get caught on soft cases. Each stand also incorporates an unusual gearless tilter. I can't speak to the longevity of this part, but it should last longer than nylon ones. If you prefer the ability to exactly position the cymbal, then this might be your stand! I find that the geared option lasts longer and guarantees no slippage.It's nice that the boom can be "hidden" - it can go straight down into the main body / tubing of the stand. This way, it can be used like a straight stand. More conveniently, in my opinion, this means that it's easier to put away after gigs.Again, it's a solid intermediate boom stand choice.

The EHWD Premium Cymbal Boom Stand is a good, solid medium to heavy stand. I have lots of stands from light weight to heavy weight. This one has some weight to it, so I would consider it a few steps above a medium. It opens easily. The tripod legs are double braced. It works well as a single ride cymbal stand. The hideaway boom handles a crash (I use a 16" and 18" crash with this) without any problem.All butterfly nuts are easily turned and all adjustments are smooth. Its gearless tilter is great. Some of my other stands have grip tilters that on occasion don't quite adjust to what I need. Even a half inch can mean that the tilt isn't quite right. This stand's tilter eliminates that problem. Very impressive.This is a good stand for the price. Whether it is used as a single straight stand or a boom stand, it will do the trick. At this price, skip the light duty stand and upgrade to this one.
