Unparalleled Professional Quality

Prestaflator is engineered specifically for the needs of bicycles and their bicyclists. Only the highest-quality materials are used for its components. We started with a cast aluminum body and gave it a bead-blasted finish. Next we used 6061-T6 alloy, chrome, and stainless steel components for all connectors and moving parts. The hose is made in USA of reinforced polyurethane. It’s 3X more flexible than our original black hose and is rated for 300 PSI of continuous use. Smooth alloy clamps on the hose are more comfortable for use of the spinner head and are corrosion-resistant.

Prestaflator’s unique variable-rate trigger plunger is long and narrow. Behind the trigger is a high-force spring. This allows the user to more easily regulate very small amounts of air to reach the exact pressure desired in even the smallest racing tires. The pressure gauge has a durable steel case covered with a rubber shock housing and offers accuracy with +/- 2%. The dial has a bicycle-specific pressure range of 12 Bar/174 PSI. It’s high enough to inflate any daily-use tire, but not excessive - making sure that the gauge is easy to read.

I've had many of this type of inflator through the years, but never for presta. It works as it should and is very handy. It made my switch to tubeless tires very simple. I would recommend it.

As I'm getting up in age, I tend to tire of some things, one of which is inflating bike tires. This Prestaflator does the initial work and then I'll use my floor pump to "top off" the air as needed. Works great and does as the manufacturer claims. Parts and gauge all show fine workmanship. Definitely would recommend it. Love it when I can get a Bingo in the purchasing world and by that I mean, I equate that to buying a car. Sometimes you get a lemon and sometimes you get a great car (Bingo)!

Update: I raised my initial rating to a 4. I contacted PrestaFlator and explained my issue with the Schrader head not sized correctly to engage the threads in the inflator. They responded quickly and are sending out a replacement. Errors and mistakes happen to everyone but the mark of a good company is how they respond when it happens and PrestaFlator stepped up without hesitation. The other leakage issue was due to a misshapen O ring at the base of the inflator input, which I was able to straighten and get seated properly. It still leaks a little bit but not enough to keep the unit from inflating my tires, which is why my rating is a 4 and not a 5.This is a good unit from a good company and I would recommend them to the home bike mechanic looking for a good product at reasonable price points Original:I really hate giving low ratings. First on the positive side, the inflator mechanism itself appears well designed and built. If you don't need industrial strength shop tools for your bike repair business and just need a good tool for your home workshop, this is ideal. However, the adapter hardware bits to connect the inflator from air supply to tire usefully sorely lacks quality control. Because of this unfortunately, I cannot give an honest opinion regarding the utility of this tool. I really wanted to like it because I think it is a great design for the home bike mechanic who doesn't need professional shop duty inflators like a Park Tool. That is why it is two stars, maybe 2.5 stars. and not one. it is almost good, but not quite.First the air connector that you screw into the inflator body to connect to your compressor hose is too small by about .2mm. That doesn't seem like much, but air molecules being small like they are, it leaks like crazy. I have an old Schrader head that snaps into my air hose with no leakage at the chuck. Checking with my calipers it is 8 mm wide. The adapter that came with the inflator is a hair over 7.8 mm wide.Second, the Schrader head attachment that is supposed to screw into the threaded adapter is too narrow to engage the threads in the coupler at all! The Presta head and air nozzle are sized correctly, it seems.Even the most casual QC check should have picked these faults up. It is a shame because I think this is an excellent tool but is hampered severely because of cheap, low quality adapter manufacture. The faulty parts really seem to come from an entirely different supplier, because I really believe the inflator itself is well built and these bits just don't match the material quality of the rest of the inflator. I suspect these were outsourced elsewhere to lower cost? I have no way of knowing if that is true, but they just don't seem to come from the same factory as the body of the inflator. If I could connect this tool to an air supply, it'd be five stars easy.

Overall I am not impressed with this inflator. First the aluminum is real light weight and feels cheaply made in the hand, the threads leak, even with Teflon tape. I do not want to tighten them more then I have in fear of pulling the treads out. The gauge LED only shows half the display sometimes, the back light display shuts down to quickly. The gauge display goes through batteries fairly quickly. I have owned this for two years and have replaced the batteries three times. The accessories are also cheaply made, and do not provide a positive fit, and leak, again even with Teflon tape. Changing out the accessories should be a quick connect of some sort. Swapping them out is inconvenient.

I don’t know why I didn’t pay attention to the 1-star reviews on this one. I usually do. If I had, I would have learned what a lightweight piece of crap this inflator is. It’s very pretty, I’ll give it that, but it comes at a price. All that pretty aluminum is so thin and lightweight that it broke within the first 5 minutes of using it. It slid off my workbench, and the air inlet fitting snapped off like it was made of balsa wood. Turns out, there’s only about one (aluminum) thread holding it on, and it just broke. Now it’s unuseable. It doesn’t even seem like a standard 1/4” air fitting would work, and I’m not going to try.I never did get to find out if the Presta fittings leak, or if any of the lightweight aluminum accessories would last even one use. My impression is that I would be disappointed with all of it.This could have been great, but it really needs to be made of good ol’ fashioned heavy duty BRASS, like most normal inflators, which can withstand years of getting tossed around the shop and run over in the driveway.

I purchased the Prestacycle product because it’s the “original” company/design, and not one of the cheaper units also available on Amazon. My assumption was that the original should be better quality. When the Prestaflator arrived, the box was open, and the packaging was father flimsy. Not a good start, but let’s check the contents. The individual parts were loose inside the box. There was no parts list enclosed, and really no way to be certain all parts were present since the box hadn’t been sealed. Three of the pieces don’t attach to any other parts or the inflator. These parts are made of aluminum. They’re light weight, but not durable as quality brass parts would be.As for the inflator it seems to work reasonably well. I like the idea and overall design. However, it doesn’t appear to be any more than average or below average quality. I have concerns about it’s durability. Others have experienced failure in this product. So despite the positive reviews and accolades, this product smacks of low quality. It’s been returned.
