How to replace Trolling Motor Prop for Min-Kota
Step 1
- Disconnect the positive motor lead from the battery prior to changing the propeller. Hold the propeller and loosen the prop nut with a a wrench.
Step 2
- Remove prop nut and washer. Turn the old prop to horizontal, to prevent the drive pin from falling out, and pull it straight off.
Step 3
- Align new propeller with drive pin.
- Install prop washer and prop nut.
Step 4
- Tighten prop nut 1/4 turn past snug, [25-35 inch lbs.].

These are purchased in case of a prop emergency. They look good and I hope they are never used.

I put these in a small zip lock bag and stored the bag in my boat glove box. So far, my current Minn Kota prop is doing great, but I sometimes fish close to shore and I have hit rocks. Running a damaged prop is not good for either the Minn Kota or for sneaking up on the fish.

I received two drive pins for my Ultrex trolling motor propeller shaft. When I ordered it, the part number on-line was the same as my Minn Kota part number, so I figured it was a Minn Kota product. However, one of the pins did not even fit in the hole of the propeller shaft. The second one was such a tight fit I had to firmly pound it in. I will be able to pound it back out when I need to, but the quality of these two items for a dowel pin is ridiculously poor. The packaging said nothing of Minn Kota. The drive pins should have been a slip fit. I do not recommend purchasing these items from this seller at all. Get them directly from a Minn Kota dealer.

You need to have these on hand along with a mini ratchet set. Can make or break a fishing trip.
