Just a traditional 5W air pump. It comes with all the needed accessories like air stones, tubes, check valve, and even a sponge filter. Just plug it in and it oxygenates your tank. One thing I will point out is that it claims to be quiet and then further makes claims that it is silent. On the high setting it is neither. In fact it is loud enough I can hear it in the next room if the door is open. That would not normally be acceptable and my other pumps are not this loud. However that's on the high setting. On the low setting I can barely hear it and there is still enough air pumping through the stones so I give it a pass because of that. Just make sure to keep it on low at all times if you care about sound.

The pump is not quite as quiet as I had hoped, but it does a decent job pumping the air through the tubes. I'm using it in a DIY hydroponics system and am so far happy with the results. I've only been using it for a few weeks, so I can't say anything about longevity. If it has some legs, it will be worth the price.

I got a new tank and needed an air pump for a smaller feature in the tank and this air pump is perfect. It has more than enough power to run the feature, but it isn't overwhelming. I like that it came with everything you need to set it up in your tank. The air tubing is soft, so you need to make sure it doesn't kink. the pump is well made and durable. Set up was pretty straight forward and easy to do. This pump is much quieter than others I have had. For the price of this air pump and all the accessories I feel like it is well worth it.

Great little package that comes with all the necessary accessories to get your tank started. The bubbler stones produce relatively large bubbles, so if you are using it for a nano tank, I'd suggest a higher quality stone with thinner pores. The sponge filter also has a hard time staying underwater and likes to float. Best way to counteract this is to squeeze the sponge underwater and let it fill up first before dunking the whole thing; but I do wish the base was heavier to make this process easier. I like that it comes with a check valve, but there isn't a way to control the rate of the flow. The silicone tubing is soft and pliable, but be careful, as it kinks easily.Overall, it's relatively quiet and is a quieter pump then the tetra whisper, so that's a possible. Works well with little hiccups, but it could use better hardware.

I got this air pump to power two air stones in my 75-gallon aquarium. The original pump I had gotten was both too powerful and too LOUD (Big brand, Whisper model). Because I literally just needed it for those, I don’t need a ton of power even in a larger tank. It also turns out; I am SUPER sensitive to noise. As far as sound goes, on low this filter works pretty well. It’s definitely not silent, but it’s pretty darn quiet. I have it below my tank in my stand cabinet. Even on low, those two 4-inch airstones really put out a lot of bubbles. After a couple of days, it is quiet enough I no longer notice it. On high it’s borderline too loud for me, but it’s still pretty quiet. When I have the bubbles set to max, they are actually louder than the pump itself, and I would say it’s only about as loud as the hum of my canister filter. While I tested the included tubing and accessories with a different pump, I’m only consistently using the two check valves and the pump itself. The airstones are too small for the eventual tank inhabitants, and I had already had the other stuff set up and ready to connect. The included tubing did seem really soft compared to my tubing, and while it worked, I feel like it’d be really easy to kink and cause problems. You don’t really move the tubing much once it’s set up, so maybe it’d still work fine. The airstones worked fine. Again, too small for what I need, but air flowed through them fine. Same with the sponge filter. I’ve only ever used a canister filter, but bubbles were flowing out of the sponge just fine. The y connector also did appear to work fine. So, all of the pieces worked “fine.” Not the best, but they worked okay for me. Over time, I’m not sure how well they’d hold up, because I only really tested them to see if they worked. The check valves seem to work just fine, as I haven’t had an issue, and I haven’t had a single issue with the pump either. It’s been running 24/7 for about a week and a half so far.

It only took a few minutes to set up and it accomplished what I was after of air rating my aquarium tank.
