I love this because it is glass. It was shorter than expected, but the numbers are bigger easier to see. I live in an area that gets really cold temps and have broken one by freezing temps. I love this and the price was fair.

I love the rain gauge but the flared collar on the tube funnels more water into the tube, giving a measurement larger than the actual rainfall. We didn’t have rain until the return window had closed. It’s just a cute garden ornament! Really disappointing.

I like to keep track of the actual rainfall so I can keep my garden healthy. I have used plastic gauges for years. They work well until they break, so, this time, I thought it would be fun to have a kitty in the garden. I like that it holds more than 5" of rain. I like that it has its own stake. I like that it is easy to pick up to get an accurate read. Of course it is glass, so it will likely break someday. But, until then, I like to have a little whimsy.

You would think that given this rain gauge is made out of regular glass that more thought would go into packaging 📦 🤔 🙄This rain gauge is so cute. I waited for such a long time to get it delivered. And it has arrived broken! The glass tube is now in the GARBAGE🗑I had to order a replacement tube which arrived within days. The replacement tube is made of a hard clear plastic, hopefully it doesn't get cloudy. The numbers aren't as big as the original unfortunately, but they are easy enough to read up close. Overall I love the cat design in black iron and now that it has an intact tube and it's set up in the garden all that has to happen now is rain.

I bought this rain gauge and was pleasantly surprised at how sturdy it is. The glass gauge is thick glass not thin so I don't worry about it breaking. It will last a long time. The numbers are big and easy to read. The little cat/butterfly design is a cute touch. It looks great in my flower bed.

As a semi-serious gardener, I have no idea why I never thought to get a rain gauge. The most important things to plant health are appropriate light and the correct amount of water. With light, you may have a shade or partial shade loving plant or one that requires full sun. Light requirements are easy enough to get right. With water, it is probably the most common way to kill a plant - too much, too little, too little followed by too much. This also helps with knowing if I need to irrigate my lawn. It doesn’t replace the need for a soil moisture meter (also available on Amazon), but is a useful and cute addition to my garden.Pros - it is easy to read, the price is reasonable, it is very cuteCon - the glass part can easily be broken
