This clamp holds on my 2" roll cage just fine but it is quite a bit bulkier in the C size than I anticipated. I have since ordered a strap clamp setup to hopefully get my tablet closer to the windshield. The quality of the clamp is very good and I have no doubt it will hold my A9+ tablet just fine. It just isn't what I though it would be.

I recently ordered this RAM Mounts RAP-400U Tough-Claw Small Clamp Ball Base with C Size 1.5" Ball to attach to a RAM Mounts Double Socket RAM-201U-D Long Arm Compatible with RAM C Size Arm to mount my LiveScope on my kayak. I learned after using the B size parts that it was not sturdy enough and the B size balls kept breaking. After installing the C size units it works perfectly.

The 2 halves of the clamp are different diameters, so anything larger than 1" doesn't work very well with the small or medium size tough claw. Doesn't work very well for a Terrova Trolling motor shaft since that is around 1.5"or so in diameter.

This is rather large. That is good for me, but could be a con for others. The clamp design has two different curves on each arm. Presumably, this is designed in to allow for a wide range of pipe sizes. However, this means it will not hold excellent to any size. You have to really tighten this thing down to get it to hold well-enough. The pipe I am clamping to is right in the middle of the stated range. I feel like it should hold a little better for something right in the middle of its range.Its mostly plastic or composite. Some metal parts. Rubber-e ball.Rating. 1 star deduct because this is crazy expensive for what it is. These should cost $13-$15. Thats it.

Best mounting system for my mobility scooter's iPad. Got my original set for use while amongst my students to control my clumped from my iPad. Most brands worked well in the classroom. But I went through three other brandswhich all slipped when I'd go on wildlife refuge gravel trails. Not RAM Mount, all aspects of the equipment held my iPad right where I wanted it. My wife had to have a set for herself. We are both firm believers in RAM products. People always want to know what the system is I'm using. And neither of us can wait to say RAM Mounts. No one asked or provided products or financial Insentives to myself or family.
