The base cabinet build quality is pretty sturdy, however, the way they attach the face of the drawer to the drawer itself is by two little plastic pieces that came to me broken. I didn't realize they were broken until I got to that step which is one of the last steps in construction of the cabinet. So far I am not impressed with it at all because I cannot use it and I'm still waiting on the company to call me. Amazon authorized a return however I need to put it back in the original packaging which is impossible since the build process involves gluing pieces together. Would only recommend if the company changes the way it attaches the face of the drawer.

Loved the price . Shop around and you would be surprised at what price you can find on this one. Will be perfect for my files and I can use the other drawer for other things. Really happy with it.

Edit: I have had it 2 years and still love it!It is lovely and works great so far. A project to put together, but just take your time and it is not difficult, just time consuming.

Had some metal cabinets that I hated. This is a nice Pc of furniture. Pretty heavy, color is nice, handles are nice. Just what I wanted. Directions like most these days aren’t much but I didn’t have a problem with them. I would recommend it.

Assembly somewhat time consuming but not at all difficult - many parts, usually with such products you get a large bag of hardware - with this you get a dozen bags - 1 for each assembly step. Directions easy to follow, product well engineered, everything fit together easily. Only one bad screw - but replaced with one from “spare parts” bag.

This does have what looks at first glance to have a LOT of parts, however they are clearly labeled and the instructions are clear. A philips screwdriver and hammer are all that is necessary for assembly. The unit is made of pressboard, which I generally dislike, however is well constructed for what it is and the exterior finish looks nice. Time will tell if it holds up.For this price this is really a 4.5 star item, loosing a tick because of a couple of details that I feel are important at any price. First is for the size of the file drawers they really should be interlocked so they both cannot be opened at the same time. For the weight of this item, even one full drawer being opened may cause the unit to tip forward. The second is the drawer slide installation makes it so that the drawer opens just shy of being able to use the files in the vertical orientation comfortably. That is when using the unit with the files aligned so that when looking at the unit from the front and looking down, the files go in with a vertical orientation - not using the center divider for legal size - then the file folders must be tilted to clear the top, they cannot be lowered in as normal or they bump the top slightly. The drawer slides should be installed an inch further forward or use better extension slides. Another note is that this really must be secured to the wall for proper/safe operation due to it's weight and design.Overall this works well, looks good and is a very good value.

But If I can put this together so can you. No doubt there are A LOT of pieces and I was a bit concerned when I pulled everything out of the box. However it went together very smoothly, just follow the steps and all the parts are in prepackaged bags with the step number on them. Honestly It looks nice, is heavy and feels sturdy. The only parts that felt "Cheap" were some of the internal parts used for building the drawer bottom. I would not use the drawers to hold anything heavy but they are filing cabinets so they really aren't meant for that. Overall I am 100% happy with the purchase, especially for the price.

These are really nice looking - and went together well. However...they are VERY tippy! VERY tippy! I really don't like anchoring furniture to walls. It complicates moving and cleaning - but in this case, you may have to anchor them. We found workarounds. We happened to have some black granite pieces that exactly matched the size of the cabinet, so we weighted them with those, and that pretty much eliminated the tipping problem. So far. They don't look bad with the granite on top. We still are reluctant to put files in the top drawers. We use the bottom ones only for filing. We lined the top drawers with Elfa basket drawers from the Container store. They perfectly fit inside the hanging file supports, with a couple inches wasted between the bottom of the basket liner and the bottom of the file drawer. It was a waste we could live with, because this made the top drawers useful for storing miscellaneous items. Well...maybe they don't PERFECTLY fit, but it took very little persuading to get them to pop all the way into the file drawers and rest on the hanging file frames. If you go the Elfa route, be sure to get the clear plastic liners for them. They cost a couple bucks, and without the liners, everything will fall through the baskets into the void below. Without those baskets and liners, the top drawers would have been useless for us. The reason is the drawer bottoms are just cardboard. The instructions tell you not to put any weight on them. Everything is intended to be in hanging folders. The baskets distribute weight like hanging folders would, but give us useful storage space. If we hadn't figured out those hacks, we would have given these cabinets a 1 or two star rating. They do look good!
