I bought this lame for my new sourdough journey and it works great! I think the mechanism is safe and easy to use and put away as opposed to the ones on the long handle.

It's not fancy. Not made out of some exotic wood. But it does the job well! love the it's magnetic and that the blade can be recessed making it very safe. Very easy to change blades. Great bang for the buck!

This was the worst bread lame I have bought. It is plastic junk that breaks easily. I wanted one with a magnet and thought I would try this one. I do not know how there are any good reviews. If you are serious about sourdough or bread, then you will likely be disappointed in this too. Maybe I will just glue a magnet on my nice bread lames instead.

This is an easy, functional bread lame. It is comfortable to hold and cuts with ease. I was able to intricately score my small pumpkins easily. Retractable blades makes it safe to use and comes with index finger guards for added safety. Definitely recommended for any sourdough baker!!

Nice sharp blade, light and easy to hold. The blade goes in and out of the holder easily. Also magnetic to stick up high from tiny fingers. Came with several replacements blades. I recommend this to any sourdough baker.
