Designed for use with the RIDGID line of power drive pipe threading machines, the RIDGID 36895 Alloy Die Head comes with 1-inch (25 mm) high-speed dies and a capacity for quickly cutting clean, precise threads on the job. The convenient, factory set 12R RIDGID die head is built for longevity and creates an American Standard National Pipe Thread (NPT) seal that is ideal when cutting threads for mechanical, low-pressure air or fluid applications.
This super-efficient OO-R model produces exacting right-hand directional threads on metal pipes that measure up to 1-inch (25 mm) NPS, creating clean 11-1/2 TPI.

DO NOT BUY THIS , had a problem with it brand new out of box would not thread pipe , been threading pipe for 20 years from 3/8" up to 4" could not find the purchase in my amazon account to return so they got for 65 bucks......they made pick 1 star or else it would be no stars....

The new die fit into my old 1960's handle perfectly and cut threads like butter.

What can I say? It threads galvanized and black pipe using the OO-R ratchet handle. This gets the job done and judging from the other heads I inherited from my Grandfather, it'll last a long time. This is well made, in the USA.

Had a gas furnace to install for my house and I had tried purchasing a cheaper kit to thread my pipe. I should know better, buy cheap get cheap. It failed on the first attempt. I bought two Ridgid dies and the Ridgid ratchet handle and the project was finished without any problems. These dies are good enough to last for a long time.

Exactly what I was looking for (without having to purchase a multi head set). The reference information was very helpful in finding the correct head configuration that works with my hand threader. And the price was very competitive with the best price I could find available in local stores.

First off, Ridgid is the very best you can buy period. I have owned many of their products. I bought this die because I knew I was having to thread a lot of pipe and I didn't won't the die getting dull half way through the job. That is a classic problem with cheap dies from China. I took off 1 star because this die started breaking threads right from the start. I looked over the cutters under a magnifing glass and I could see small nicks in the teeth. I was able to finish the job but I messed up a lot of threads and had to start over. when you are threading gas pipe, you cannot afford broken threads. The only way I was able to make it work was to break the basic rule of threading. I did not periodically reverse the die. I just cut straight through with plenty of oil. When I tried to reverse, it would break threads. Not good. Anyway, I did return the die and Amazon sent me a new one right away. The new one looks perfect. I guess every now and then a bad one slips by uncaught. Amazon made it right so I am satisfied. I love Amazon.
