Not only is it pretty with the clean lines. It's ergonomically designed easy to hold and pour from. Easy to clean as the neck is not so narrow you can't get cleaning tools in it.

This is a well designed decanter that works well with Ullo wine filter - once you add a funnel to cover the seam on the filter where the plastic and silicone parts mate! To my eye, nicer looking than Ullo's decanter and far less expensive. While light, it has proved to be quite hardy. Recommended.

As in the title, and also note it barely holds one bottle. I wonder if the "cabernet" version, which I seem to recall is slightly larger, is more useful. I like this for its elegance but I don't expect it to last much longer than a wine glass, i.e. I see breakage in its reasonably near future. This one is easy to pour from, which is a plus for now.

Strictly speaking, this is a half-bottle decanter. It's not big enough to 'properly' decant a full bottle of wine - it doesn't have enough space for the desirable amount of air above the wine. However, it suits me perfectly because I don't decant in the old-fashioned way - I aerate my wines through a wine shower funnel from the bottle into the decanter, and pour the first glass within five minutes.Riedel are extremely professional. By and large, their products don't create problems in the home. A decanter like this one is light and easy to hold and fits into a cupboard easily. It feels good in regular use, just as their glasses do. Not perfect, but good enough. I've used one of these decanters for well over a year without suffering a breakage. When I look back many years, to the days when I rather struggled with a heavy, cut-glass decanter, I smile. This is easier. And the wine tastes as good - if not better!

I bought this to have a small, easy to clean decanter for use when just the two of us are dining. It is indeed the right size for a single 750 ml bottle of wine, and much easier to clean than our large Riedel decanter. We are having a little trouble getting used to its very light weight, however, and find we tend to over pour out of it.

This Riedel Merlot decanter suited our purposes perfectly. It is not as large as our regular decanters but we were looking for one we could transport with us to some BYOB restaurants in a case. It is small enough that it fits in fine with 2 wine glasses and most importantly the price - ah yes, around $20 won't break the bank if it ends up breaking while being transported! It has a pleasant shape and is perfect for two people. I would not buy this decanter with the idea that it would be our only decanter at home - I would purchase something that would hold more wine such as some of the Cabernet decanters in order for the wines to be able to aerate properly.
