I bought this kit a few years back hoping I wouldn’t have to use it. Well that day came last Friday getting my bike ready for a ride on Saturday. I pulled up into a wheelie and one of the fork seals came out. Well after several futile attempts to reseat it I had to tear the whole thing apart. Not fun the night before the ride. Replacing these you pretty much have to overhaul the fork anyway so that’s what I did. The seals went in tightly with the assistance of the proper size socket and I ended up refilling the fork with 10 weight fork oil. At the advice of a video I was watching I added oil to both sides of the fork. Installation instructions called for more in one side than the other. I want to say 130ml in each but check to be sure as a week has passed since I did it. This fork has never worked better. I’m 235 and run the heavy black springs already. The 10 weight fork oil has helped a lot. I luckily had some from when I rebuilt my motorcycle fork.

I tried these without a tool and no success. I purchased a tool and they were to hard to press in. They bend and deform to easily. Thankfully I bought two pair so I didn't have to order again. Make sure to use the right tool while being very careful when installing. They bend too easily.

The wiper seals were very tight trying to install and the foam inserts were very difficult once soaked in oil.But after getting it all together they seem to be doing their job as in there is no oil leaking past them.

Rebuilt my circa 2005 Pilot SL forks, went very well.Put the seals in the freezer for an hour before install and it is much easier

We really struggled to put these into a set of dart forks. They were flimsy and would not fit so we had to trim the width and pack in with suspension grease. After three attempts of getting the lowers on we finally managed it. Perhaps this is because the Dart forks are cheap and now obsolete

Used to rebuild 2001 Rockshox SID hydra air shock. You will need another kit to replace other seal inside the fork. Old seal were carefully removed by prying out with screw driver. Old foam came out in pieces. The new foam was too wide and had to be cut to fit my shock. To install the dust seal you need a circular tube to fit over seal so you can pound it in. I got lucky and had an adaptor on my shopvac that was the perfect diameter fitting over the seal allowing me to pound the seal on the shock. You might find PVC pipe that will work, maybe 1 to 1.5 diameter.

These dust wipers were purchased tooverhaul of my Sid XC Hydra Air Fork.After completely overhauling my fork, Iam very satisfied. My Sid is now veryresponsive, and these dust wipers are doingtheir job.Before purchasing this product, make sureyou have all of your required rebuildcomponents.I needed the following components: dust seals,rebuild kit (o-rings, washers, air caps, etc..),grease, and Fork Oil (Maxima works great!).Make certain to have the proper tools on hand too.I needed the following tools: Torque Wrench with properhex bits (park tool tw-2 worked fine), socket set,oil pan, and something to measure oil with.In summary, the purchase of these dust seals inconjunction with other required overhaul items hascompletely revived my old Sid XC.
