This burnisher is outstanding. I have a corded burnisher which I am scared to use because the cord gets in the way all the time, and was once "burnished" to the point of shorting out. This one is cordless, and runs on 21 VDC 4 AH batteries two of which are included along with a charging station. For the price, this is an outstanding deal. This burnisher is also a powerful drum sander, and I have done more sanding than burnishing with this tool. The tool comes with a sanding wheel and six replacement sand paper wheel covers. The Amazon page provides a link to get replacement sandpaper, which is important because this burnisher uses 4" x 3" wheels which are non-standard and replacement parts are hard to find. This burnisher is well made and very powerful. It has 6 speeds and when using the sanding wheels, finding the right speed is important. The drum sander has a tendency to bounce and changing the speed helps find a speed the limits the bouncing. The tool is heavy, but has excellent ergonomics which make using it for long periods of time possible. The batteries are excellent and last a long time, and having an extra battery charging while using the tool means little to no downtime.

Works and removes a lot of material, but I think there are other tools that are more suited for wood working....This unit is seemingly well constructed and works as expected, but I was a bit underwhelmed and have a hard time thinking of a case where I would use it instead of other options like a belt sander or pad sander...I tried it on a piece of scrap 2x10 stock, and it removed a lot of material very quickly, both with the abrasive roller and the sandpaper drum, (especially the latter) but the resulting surface was ROUGHER than what I started with, and was also quite rippled. I feel I would have gotten better results with a belt sander. It was reasonably light weight and easy to use, and it was not hard to change the drum. The manual was nicely done.I had other people suggest to me that this might be a tool that is more suited for use on metal, but I did not try it and it isn't a suggested use. However I could easily see how it might be very effective at removing paint or putting a 'frosted' finish on a metal surface. The batteries are Makita compatible, and the charger will work with some, but not all Makita compatible batteries, it also has the socket for the plug style chargers. The charger and batteries are labeled with part numbers and several certifications.Overall not a bad tool but I'm not at all sure about a use case for it, especially in doing wood work. I'd spend my money on other sanding tools first.

Extra drums are difficult to find as this uses 3” items. You will need extra drums down the road.

I recently used this surface conditioning tool with a six-speed setting and cordless drum sander, and it worked wonders. The adjustable speed is great for different tasks, allowing me to go from light sanding to more aggressive material removal with ease. The cordless feature made it super convenient to use without being tethered to an outlet, giving me the flexibility to move around freely. It’s powerful yet lightweight, and the drum sander provided smooth, consistent results. Overall, it’s a solid tool that gets the job done efficiently, and I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a versatile sander.
