About this item

  • Vintage-Inspired Pickup - The '59 bridge model is a vintage output humbucker, perfect for rock, blues, and more, offering tons of old-school character but with a brighter top end and a slightly more compressed sound.
  • Versatile Humbucker - Vintage-inspired coils give the '59 bridge pickup an airy quality that is firmly in the P.A.F. family, and the alnico 5 bar magnet and vacuum wax potting make it compatible with lighter guitar strings and louder amplifiers than were ever used in the 1950s.
  • Authentic Tone - The '59 model is designed in the spirit of the original P.A.F. humbuckers of the 1950s, with sweet sustain, and a warm, full sound that still possesses a clear attack.
  • Traditional Vintage Appointments - The '59 model features a variety of traditional vintage specs, such as 42AWG plain enamel mag wire, long-legged nickel-silver bottom plate, vintage single-conductor braided push back lead wire, and no logo.
  • Made in the USA - The '59 Vintage Output Humbucker Bridge Pickup is wound on Seymour’s classic Leesona 102 pickup winding machine from the old Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, MI.

The Seymour Duncan '59 Model SH-1 humbucking pickup is Seymour Duncan's take on the classic Seth Lover PAF (Patent Applied For) humbucker found on the Gibson's iconic late-1950s Les Paul. The SH-1 sports plain enamel wire, a long-legged bottom plate, 4-conductor cable, and the absence of a Seymour Duncan logo. This vintage re-creation serves up a slightly more scooped midrange than the Seth Lover model and is vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance. For flexible tones with vintage flair, the Duncan '59 Model SH-1 is a perfect fit. Seymour Duncan '59 Model SH-1 at a Glance: Vintage look and sound A complete tone monster setup Trust your tone to Seymour Duncan Vintage look and sound The '59 Model SH-1 provides a late-'50s, vintage-correct, humbucker sound with warm and crystalline clean tones. Full and bright distorted tones with smooth sustain are available from this classic-style pickup. Classic appointments include plain enamel

I don’t even know where to start.First of all, the part was warped, I had to bend the stand offs back in place just to install themSecond, the wiring convention is incorrect, on a few different levels. First, it is supposed to exit the pickup near side to the cavity, second, it looks like the wires themselves are incorrectly labeled. In addition to this, the springs they give are ridiculously oversized. It’s an absolute pain to install these. Any small slip up and the spring will shoot across the room and you’ll never find it again.I have an old pair of these, and they sound much better. I’m pretty sure they are sending used returns. Absolute joke

The new pick ups replaced my original “Duncan Design” pickups. I added a coil split switch and the SH1s give me a bell like single coil tone in addition to a wonderfully warm ‘59 burst hand wound humbucker tone.I highly recommend these pick ups.

This pick up brought my Les Paul to life. I did not like the stock epi pup in the bridge so I got this bad boy. It has so much clarity and nice mids. Would definitely recommend it

Have this in my Les Paul now and really enjoy the clarity it brings to my guitar. It still sound amazing when used with a high gain or low gain amp. All around great PAF sounding pickups.

Good tone, settles well on a 1978 SG.It sits next to a T top which was the original pickup in the guitar. Someone had changed the bridge pickup to an incorrect neck pickup.... Funny the things people do to guitars.Good tone, no issues.

È sufficientemente "cattivo" per l'hard rock stile Led Zeppelin, non molto versatile ma esce dal mix ed è pungente. Si fa sentire!

Sounds great in my Epi Les Paul. Perfect for Blues/Country/Classic Rock. I wired a set of these Jimmy Page style with f***'in awesome results! Huge upgrade from the stock pickups.
