Seymour Duncan Saturday Night Special humbuckers nail the guitar sound that filled arenas in the late 1970s, but with a tighter, more modern low end. These classic-voiced, moderate-output pickups employ Alnico IV magnets to produce warm cleans and articulate overdriven tones that lend themselves nicely to crunchy riffs and stinging leads. Saturday Night Specials come standard with 4-conductor wiring, maple spacers, and short mounting legs. When we're chasing arena-rock tones, the guitarists here at Sweetwater turn to Seymour Duncan Saturday Night Special humbuckers. Seymour Duncan Saturday Night Special Humbucker Features at a Glance: Set of classic-voiced, moderate-output humbuckers Re-creates the familiar late-1970s arena-rock tone Alnico IV magnets produce warm cleans and articulate overdriven tones Comes standard with 4-conductor wiring, maple spacers, and short mounting legs Create arena-rock tones with Seymour Duncan Saturday Night Special

These pickups have elevated a Les Paul Tribute to tone heaven…everything that I needed was included and the installation was a breeze…

Excellent clarity and note articulation like a PAF should be, but none of that wiry thinness I seem to get with any given PAF when overdriven. Basically these are the best of both worlds, cleans are what I always wanted from a PAF and driven sounds are rich and powerful but not overdone like higher output humbuckers are (JB included). The neck is perfect too, warm and crystal clear, never bass heavy or woofy. Just perfect. I have them in a Les Paul and I’ve never heard better humbuckers, though I’ve tried plenty of others over the years. They’re pricy, granted, but I feel they are worth it. You just can’t do better than these in my opinion. This gives me exactly what I want from a humbucker set.

lol,I really didn't think I would find anything worthwhile in these, but you know, I had to give it a shot, I'm don't often mess withpickups unless I need a hotrails in the bridge.I bought a Gio series Ibanez with 5 way switch, split coil, or coil tap,I actually don't know the difference, anyway we're supposed to getsingle coil and double coil out of humbuckers. So, the stock humbuckers are almost horribly muddy, I have expensiveand quality gear, and a lot of guitars, but the Ibanez is nowmy main axe due to playability , looks, 24 frets, 5 way switch, andthe coil splitting or tap.I looked at the seymour wire diagram, they don't show a 5 way switch,I had to do a little deductive figuring, and came up with;red white wire together to the 'split labeled pin on guit switch' ,green and bare soldered together to ground (duh) , and theblack to the pin/terminal marked hot. Before putting the strings back on, I noodled around a littlewith a screw driver tapping on the diff magnets , didn't seemto be right, but I thought, ''ok , I really fchd this up, seems likeI have on and off basically, lol, but ok, we'll at least see what itsounds like''lolholly crap!!! What a beautiful monster, I lucked out, and thewiring I did turned out perfect, dbl, sngle , all, single , double..and the mud is all gone, clarity, definition, things I asked aboutall over the web, no one could really come up with a yes or no,,but I can say now, yes, there is great clarity with these pups.I have had literally hundreds of guitars I'm sure, over manyyears of playing, this is not like a strat , but in some ways mimicsthem, I have a strat now that I'm not likely to play anymore, themagic that I'm getting out of this Ibanez with the Seymour duncansand I will mention again, some fairly high end effects and a decenttube amp , this is the best I've had for the genre of music that Ilike the most; Classic Rock, older stuff mostly. If I want to do Foghat, its perfect, Bad Co, Kiss, Steppenwolf, Ozzie,so much more. These pups may be capable of a lot of other things as well, I'm justlisting what I know, what I'm into these days.Good luck with your sound, I hope you find what you need as well.Take care!

Great sounding pickups. I was skeptical about putting them in my bolt on neck, alder, Shifflet Tele Deluxe but they are great. Punchy and crystal clear. Neck pickup is astoundingly clear.
