About this item

  • The Shimano CN-M9100 features an extended inner link plate that connects seamlessly with chainring teeth for highly efficient drivetrain performance. Its design offers a reduction in natural vibrations normally caused by the inner and outer chain plates rolling onto the chainring. It provides better chain engagement, stronger retention, and smoother pedaling
  • Enhancements to shifting performance
  • Easy connect
  • Smoother driving even over bumpy terrain
  • Compatible with Shimano Quick Link SM-CN910-12

We'd be lying if we said we weren't ecstatic when Shimano finally launched its own 12-speed drivetrain. Now, we didn't have a problem with the other offerings in the market, but we're believers that a little competition does a lot of good in the industry, and it's easy to see with Shimano's XTR CN-M9100 12 Speed Chain. This sleek chain is built specifically to pair up with Shimano's 12-speed drivetrain, with exceptional chain retention thanks to its extended machining on the end of the inner plate that firmly holds both your front chainring, and your cassette. It features Shimano's SIL-TEC technology on the rollers and pin link plate for silky smooth control, whether you're out of the saddle and mashing up a climb, or doing some quick-shifting to up your power output as you book it into your descent. The new XTR CN-M9100 Chain features directional, hyperglide+ technology, and must be paired up with Shimano's micro-spline cassettes. Hyperglide+ on the chain pairs up with guide ramps on both sides of the cassette, and is capable of engaging with two cogs at the same time during down shifts and upshifts, for smoother transitions, that Shimano claims can drop upshift speed by two thirds compared to before Hyperglide+.

XTR stuff is really the best in my opinion. This is an authentic Shimano chain and the same high standard you expect from all XTR components.

No "XTR" written on the links like what I see in photos across the internet. So I'm not sure it's authentic? But it works ok so far. I think I need to do some fine tuning of my derailleur to make sure I'm giving a fair review. I'll update if something is bad.

Let me start first by saying, I love Shimano! In fact, I've upgraded my whole drivetrain on my bike to XTR. I'm thrilled with everything except for this chain. I've had problems with bent links twice now, and have determined that this chain is just too weak for mountain biking.

Wow I put this on my xt 32t front chain ring with a slx cassette and shifter. No more noise or resistance. I should have gotten this a long time ago. Don’t think about it just buy it.

These are counterfeit!!! Inner plates are not hyperglide.

Shimano chains look plain but they shift better and last longer. I'm not spending more money any longer on fancy chains!!

Didnt realize the links are hollow, which reduces the weight and it uses a more durable metal protection.I think it was totally worth the price

Quality vs price, I'm not satisfied. I'll be going to a competitor for brand selection next time. I could easily replace the chain 4x & get 4x usage from another brand than these at the pricepoint I paid!!!

Love the original 9100 series chain on my mountain bike. Smooth. Click-snick-shifts. Never had any problems when using this chain. It lasts about 900 miles of tough mountain bike use before my wear gauge indicates to replace it.
