I've purchased these nets for years but the last few orders were not the same quality. The tie ends come apart and some of the strands that loop around the cinch tie rope are not even secured. I'm going to have to reconsider whether I purchase them again or not. Also the quality and strength of the net isn't the same. The nets aren't lasting as long as earlier purchases.

This is a great haynet. It opens wider than most making it easier to fill. Its a good size capacity-wise, I could get 3 sections of a bale into it. The holes are of a good size for greedy eaters but not so small as to frustrate them.

I have very experienced "small hole hay net' horses. When I got these and saw the single ply net pieces between well-tied knots, I was very worried they weren't going to last a week, what with horses ripping at the single lil rope with teeth.Surprisngly, I've been using them about 2 months now, on and off, and no damage yet! Perhaps their lips are well enough tuned to rope now to discern whether to use the teeth yet. Time shall tell, though. My last ones I got from Jeffers were more heavy duty and after 6-8 years have many bite holes in them I've repaired. Just got tired of repairing. Shires brand was the first I ever got for slow feed hay nets, back in 2007? These are made different than those.

Our first hay net. We like the size, it’s just to keep him busy when it’s cold and dreary outside and he would rather stand in his run in area. It does the trick. He has somehow managed to get it off the hook and it remained intact even though he was tossing it and playing with it. We put 2 flakes at a time in it. It could hold more, but the size works well for us.

I bought four hay nets to test them out. I have larger horses and despite this one being a "small", it is larger than the Weaver 36". I like that it has slightly smaller holes than the other hay nets. 2 inch seems the norm, but this one has 1.75 size holes. I ordered another one similar to this one that has yet to come. I like the colors which make it easier to tell from others at the barn who mostly use purple Weaver hay nets. You will also need to purchase one or two carabiners to hang the net. The only thing that concerns me is the way the top loops are secured. The loops at the top for the draw string are the end of the net strings. So there is a little knot on each loop. I am just concerned that it will fail over time. Update: I have been using these hay nets for over 14 months now. They all developed holes which I have repaired. One of the nets has about seven holes in it. I had repaired three in the past and when it developed more holes, I repaired those too. The hay nets that have lasted the longest are the Shires Haynet 2" Mesh Holes 1024 (50 inch) and Shires 40" Premium Poly Cord 2" Hole Hay Net- Blue. The 50 inch never developed any holes at all over the same period. The smaller 40 inch also has continued to last.

These work great for our miniature horses. Red & Black is quite large so I recommend the Blue & Black for minis. The openings are too big on normal nets and I am always afraid they will get their tiny hooves caught. The nets made for minis have really small openings and are very frustrating, my minis will paw at those and damage them. Very happy with the quality of these bags. Standing up to 4 hungry little minis sharing the large bag.

These haynets have been wonders for my horses. My 2 horses no longer stomp their food into the ground or pee on it leaving it for me to clean up. I haven't had any issues with them breaking and they have been put to some abuse by my boys. I've been using them for about 2 months now. The small ones are very good size and easily fit 2 large flakes of hay and I truely love how much money i'm saving from hay wastage. I'm debating buying the large ones just so they have all day food instead of just prolonged feeding times. I highly reccomend these!!
