We have used Silca floor pumps for many years, exclusively for Presta valves, and like their quality, reliability, and easy, firm, press-on attachment to Presta valves. The gauges on those older Italian-made Silca pumps are small and not particularly easy to read. Those pumps, like this new one, easily go to 120 psi, higher than we ever pump up bike tubes, even in the days of 23 mm tires. So we were eager to test this new design made in Taiwan with its flip-up chuck and expanded-range large gauge. The expanded gauge is great and really the only reason we see for buying this pump. I have a fat tire mountain bike with tubeless 4.4” tires that I run at 7.5 psi, close to the lowest pressure I can go without the tire “burping” when it hits obstacles. Before getting this pump I had to check the pressure after pumping or bleeding with an electronic pressure gauge which was time-consuming, tedious, and inconvenient. With the gauge on this new Silca pump it is MUCH easier and faster to pump the fat tires to exactly the desired pressure. The new chuck is, for us, more of a mixed bag. The flip-up attachment is ubiquitous and secure, but on the pump we received not particularly well done: the little handle you lift up is extremely difficult to push up all the way and cuts into your thumb when you push it. Perhaps, this is not a general problem and only limited to the sample we received. Other than that, the quality of the pump seems high, even with the change in manufacturing location, and the pump should last a long time.Overall, this pump is great IF you need to pump accurately to low pressures. However, if you usually pump bike tires in the typical 30-110 psi range, I do not see any feature of this pump that warrants paying 2-3 times as much as you would pay for many of the other name-brand quality floor pumps that are readily available.

Best product I’ve bought in a very long time, just a few strokes flat to full, easy to use, and it’s gorgeous. Wow.

This is a fantastic pump! The best I’ve owned. The guage is great and easy to read down to the 2lb mark. Most you have to guess. The chuck works perfectly and is a breeze to use. I do think I’ll order one of the pro chucks that SILCA is famous for but certainly not necessary. 700x28 tire fills to 88 in 13 pumps. Fantastic

Used a Joe Blow to pump my tires for over 20 years.Pulled the trigger and bought the best pump in the world. The build quality is extremely high with everything made of aluminum except the handle which is wooden which very nice to the touch. Once I attach the head to the valve, the gauge correctly reads the pressure! I had never experienced that - this simple thing blew me away. Once locked down, the head doesn’t slip or burst off - it stays clamped down measuring pressure and ready to pump. When I start pumping, air starts to fill the tire and I get industry leading accuracy. The head also has a bleed button to easily release some pressure to get your pressure spot on.It’s not perfect as when I pump, there is a huge knock when I get to the bottom of the chamber - this could’ve been dealt with I assume but after using it a while, I just know when it is about to bottom out and I just stop before then.Another issue is that the the head is extremely well build and heavy and most likely the reason that it works so well. Unfortunately, after releasing it from the valve, the head swings and takes chunks of paint off the air chamber. I immediately put a few stickers on the abrasion points but I recommend you do this immediately after you buy it. But then again, nick’s and dents give things character. The gauge really large and had oversized numbers up to 30 psi which is awesome for mountain and gravel. I’m a roadie so not convenient for me but the gauge is plenty large to see even the regular sized numbers. Not perfect and it is expensive, but worth every penny. Treat yourself to an industry leading pump and you won’t regret it.

After trying out some of the cheaper pumps on the market, I was constantly disappointed by flimsy components and wildly inaccurate gauges. This SILCA pump, however, excels in both construction quality and accuracy. It definitely costs more than many of the pumps available on Amazon, but I think it's worth it!

This is by far the best manual bicycle pump for both Presta and Schrader valves that I have ever owned. Switching between the two is simple. By reducing the friction within the mechanism, it reduces the workload.

first off, really nice pump. dont get me wrong, i really like it, but when this is 3x the cost of the average name brand floor pump, i expect there to be more reasons than a wood handle to justify the price.the pump: a bit loose with tolerances and makes more noise than i like. not a dealbreaker but not sure it will age well either. could probably stand to have a clip to keep the chuck from smacking the pump body and chipping paint. a quick 3d printed part should fix this but including it would be cool too. needs a braided hose like the rest of their product line. nice ash handle but plain rubber hose? not sure why to skimp here. nothing at the bottom of the bore to dampen the pump shaft when it bottoms out, so you just get a clunk. a cheap small rubber washer would get rid of this.a bit more effort for the money please!
