They didn't work well. This one works, due to its dual layer design. My cat - I love her, but she's dumb as a brick - if she sees litter she thinks that's where she uses the bathroom. Maybe she's trained TOO well. I don't know. Anyway, It doesn't matter if she's knocked it out of her litter box and onto the floor. If there's litter there, she's going to use it. So if the litter is just kinda on the floor, it raises the possibility of her doing what she does ON THE FLOOR.This item's dual layer design makes the litter that has been kicked out of the box drop down below where my cat will notice it. Cat hasn't had a problem since I got this item, and I am eternally thankful for that.It's also easy to clean. Just take the top layer off and dump the bottom tray back into the litter box. Easy peasy.It's soft silicone so it's easy for the cat - or me - to walk on. It's very resilient, and if it gets dirty it's easy to clean.Good product, and if it keeps my well-trained cat from messing up the floor, it's worth the price.Thanks for reading. I've gone through many types of litter mats for my cats, I've even used one similar to this though it only opens on two sides so cleaning was still a chore. Not so with the Purrersia Silicone Cat Litter Mat for Litter Box. The top perforated layer is totally separate from the bottom tray layer, making cleaning a relative breeze, what a simple yet smart design. The perforated layer is soft yet strong enough to resist scratches and tears so that should bode well for its longevity, and most importantly the cats took to it without resistance. I also love the little detail like the tab with the paw pads that is used to lift the top layer, it's both cute and practical.

I like it but a lot depends on your litter box and its location. The mat works just fine and does help to contain the cat litter but the cat (in my case a kitten) has to step on it coming out of the litter box. The litter box we're using it with does not have an upper igloo section, so the kitten is able to exit the litter box from any side. Often the mat wasn't under the side she came out on. We solved that by moving the litter box to the corner of the room so it has a wall on two sides. Now we have a 50/50 chance of the kitten stepping out onto the mat. At some point I may add a sturdy piece of cardboard to one of the remaining exposed sides to attempt to force the kitten to always use the mat side to enter and exit the litter box. The bottom line is that the mat works as advertised when the cat uses it. The mat material is easy to clean and did not have any odor to it when delivered.

Most of my cats have moved outside to summer digs and my last indoor cat passed away after I ordered but before I received this mat so I can't give it as big of a challenge as I had planned but I do have a litter of 4-week-olds who are just discovering litter boxes and they are certainly walking on it. I've tried other mats but the litter ends up getting stuck in it and then it's a hassle to take it outside to try to clean it off. I've already noted that with this mat, it shouldn't happen. The kittens are happily walking on it and it is trapping the little pieces of stuff that get stuck to them and I like that it separates so I can just tip it out without having to shake it or whack it with a broom or hose it off. I'm hoping that as they use it, the kittens will get used to the texture and will continue to walk on it. It's a good size, larger than I anticipated, and it catches a couple sides of the box and that's a big plus. I'm very happy with it and I'm sure it will get plenty of use as the weather heats up and some of the older cats come back inside to the AC and over the winter when it's cold out.UPDATE: Momma cat has discovered the mat and apparently likes it so much, she lays on it to feed the kittens! She's a mostly-feral cat who uses my hall closet to have and raise her kittens and it's amazing to see her out of the closet and resting on it. Two paws up from her!

I love this litter mat. The large size is great and I love the design. It’s made of silicone and it’s super easy to rinse clean. It’s durable, thick and well made. I like the 2 part design. The top portion fits securely on the base and allows you to lift and clean each piece separately as well. The grippy nature of the silicone means there is no shifting or movement on my hardwood floors. It really stays securely in place to catch the litter as the cat comes out of the litter box. Excellent product!

I can’t stand having a litter box in the house, so my husband put a kitty flap in the door leading to our sunroom. Every time the kitties come back into the house after using the box they track in litter. Sometimes I swear they’re not really cats but wee piglets in disguise. Then again, somehow we manage to track in litter on our shoes from just passing by the litter box. I thought this silicone litter trapping mat would be a great solution. We didn’t put it outside the cat box; rather, we put it front of the door so the cats - and us- would step on it clean off our feet/paws coming into the house. It’s worked very well so far. I love how easy it is to clean: just pull off the top layer and shake the bottom piece outside. If necessary, it’s very easy to rinse off. The top mat does move a bit when we wipe our feet on it; of course, it was designed for kitty paws! I wish it was a bit larger to protect a larger area, but we’re still quite pleased.
