This phase converter by YMYP does what it is supposed to do and does it well. It is solidly constructed and a fairly hefty size. Works great. I have a 3 phase wide belt sander that has a 10hp motor and a 2 HP motor. Runs both no problem. Easy to wire in and hide away. For the price you can't beat it.

This does not work for my application. It gets my motor hot and causes it to shut down. Works ok for short stints but that will not work for me.

Tried out this phase converter to power the motor of a small surface grinder. Motor ran fine for about a half of an hour before becoming incredibly hot and smoking. Was not an issue with the motor as I borrowed a VFD and the motor has ran fine / with low current consumption since. Not worth the potentially expensive risk of replacing a motor.
