Easy to install.
1. Mark 4 round points at the door bolt and 2 round points at the striker holes.
2. Use your own screwdriver to drill our screws to each hole.
3. Check and make sure the gate latch bolt and striker are both fixed tightly.

Latch works as described. I wanted to add the latch to our new shed, even though the doors had a key lock. The installation was easy utilizing the supplied hardware. I then picked up a padlock and the job was done. The latch appears to be solidly built and the looks good on our white double doors.

Review for Sliding Gate Lock 1pc Heavy Duty Door Latch with Padlock Hole Lockable Carabiner:With several gates on my property I had used the same type of latch on most of them but it was flimsy and didn’t really work on all my gates. I had to make one work where it was the wrong fit.This latch allows you to choose two ways for the bolt to secure to the ‘socket’ and that’s what I needed for the gate I had to make a flimsy latch work.I went with the bolt going trough the bottom of the U or the smaller hole rather than through the U. It works great and I like they gave you a little caribiner to ‘lock’ it.The hardware is fine I used longer screws as I could but it is always nice to have everything you need included with a product vs having to collect it separately.

This bolt gate latch is just perfect for my gear storage locker.It's easy to use, easy to mount, and very functional.It has room for the lock as well, which is important for my use case. Though I use stronger bolts instead of the screws to attach it.

This slide bolt design is pretty standard, but it's really hard to find them in black! I am familiar with these as they are used everywhere in horse stables, but I used this for a shed door. So far so good, it's working as expected and it looks good with the other black hardware I have on the outbuilding. These are a lot easier to install than a lot of other types of latches or door handles.

we needed a new latch for our backyard gate and we wanted one that could be locked if needed so this seemed like a decent option and this is a nice well made gate latch. It's fairly decent gauge of steel and is pretty heavy duty, it's not a thin gauge steel, this is beefy. If you need a latch for a gate, this is a good option.

For $8 this slide bolt gate latch is a good deal. The quality is good but since it's small, I would not recommend for main gate. Maybe for a shed or a small barn where security is not as important. The latch design is symmetrical so it can be installed on the left or the right. Everything is in a plastic zip lock bag.
