Wow, I did not see the small print that said, "3 pack". That means 6 whistles! My roommate and landlords are all family, and live in 3 houses next to each other. There just so happens to be 6 of us, and we're all into camping/emergency/survival gear. So now we all have whistles on our keychains. This is great for a big family. Or, to have extras stashed everywhere, in case you're trying to flag down the icecream truck in the dead of a Florida Summer. LoL. But these are sharp looking on my keychain, and they're loud.Oh, one important pointer I have to mention. There's little keyring on them that must be there as an example, rather than for actual use. Some of them flew off as I was opening the package, and they are NOT strong enough to use on your keychain. Don't try it, or you'll probably lose it. Not a big enough deal to subtract a star; just something to be aware of. Use your own sturdier keychain. Other than that, these are a Win 👍

I received 6 whistles (3 packs with 2 whistles each). I see some other reviewers complaining that they only received 2 whistles. I advise you to complain to Amazon to get a refund or replacement with the correct quantity.6 whistles is overkill if you don't have 6 people (family members, scouting group, etc) to share them with. I wish they had an option to buy only 2 whistles for $8 instead of 6 for $24.The product photos show these whistles with a lanyard cord. The cord is not included. You could use an old shoelace if you don't have any cord handy. These whistles are compact and lightweight and nicely finished. Volume is not as loud as some of the (slightly larger) 3-pipe aluminum whistles that Amazon sells (I got a 3 pack of those for $7).

Got these to put on keychains for emergencies. Received 2 double packs so also use them for our hiking packs. They are small but very loud and clear. It’s a thin lightweight metal with a sharp high pitch and very effective sound. Good quality.

Don't be confused. This order consisted of 6 whistles in 3 packs of 2 each. I kept one pack for myself, putting one in my truck's survival kit and one on my keychain. I broke up the other two packs to distribute the 4 whistles to female co-workers in my office to carry for safety.Unlike some emergency whistles, these aren't finicky as far as getting them to "woooooooot!" Pretty much if you can shoot some lung air into them, they're making noise. They're definitely loud enough to get the attention of people reasonably nearby with a tone that is unmistakable as an alert. Loud enough to use when you're getting harassed on the street, but not so loud as to inform your town that a tornado is approaching. They're also durable enough that I haven't noticed any dings or damage from being toted around on my keychain for about 2 months.

You might be wondering why anyone would need 6 emergency whistles so I will explain my reason why. I live on a lake and last summer I heard someone crying out for help, or at least I thought I heard “help me”. I went outside and sure enough a woman was calling out for help, her kayak was sinking and she had no PFD (personal flotation device). I ran to her aid and found out that no one in their boats closer by heard her cries for help. She was safe but very shaken by the ordeal. She was lucky I was home, no one else nearby was. Her foot was tangled in the straps on her kayak seat and things could have gone seriously wrong within minutes. The boaters couldn’t hear her cries but sound does travel to the shore. I explained to this woman that I have a whistle attached to my life vest in case I run into trouble out on the lake. I plan to attach a whistle to each of my PFDs so that my friends and family can call for help if they have any trouble out on the lake. These will could also save a life for someone lost in the woods or call for help or attention on a college campus should a bad guy approach a college co-ed to do her harm. There are a lot of potential uses for these whistles. They are waterproof and have a ring on them (although not a very sturdy ring) to attach to a PFD, backpack, or key ring.

Extremely lightweight and loud whistle, this. I was very surprised to find that the package contained two whistles, but the overall delivery contained three packages in total! That is 6 individual survival whistles in total for a very low price! Very nice! Each one comes with a keychain style loop ring. I plan to put one on all of our family’s keychains and store the rest inside each of our individual cars as a backup.Do yourself a favor and test the volume of the whistle outside and not indoors. These little guys are loud, loud, LOUD!!!!
