This kit is created specifically for scalloped deck boards. This kit includes a template used to mark the deck board in the thickest section. Predrill where you've marked with the included drill bit. Next, set the screw with the Pro Plug PVC Tool and tap in the Trex plug with a hammer. Pro Plug PVC Plugs are made from the original PVC material so they are a perfect match to your PVC decking & trim. The PRO PLUG PVC Tool drives fasteners to the correct depth every time. This is a nice kit and works well to hide the screws on the deck boards. But the dill bit must have been defective. It snapped before I could drill the first hole. Pulled a new drill bit out of my toolbox and I have not had a problem since. The screw depth setting tool works well and the plugs match my Toasted Sand colored Trex decking perfectly.

This system came with everything you would need to conceal screws in your deck boards. The plugs matched the color of boards that I bought. I did need to go through the plugs to try to find the best match to the area that I drilled the screw in which took a little bit of time. People didn’t even notice that I used plugs until I pointed it out to them.

COST MORE THAN CLIPS BE SURE THE BOARDS ARE IN CORRECT LOCATION BEFORE USING ONCE PLUGS IN PLACE YOU WILL NEED EXTRA PLUGS TO REPLACE ANY THAT YOU HAVE TO REMOVE

Fast and easy - Drill a starter hole with the included bit then set the screw with the included driver toolOnce you've done a bunch of screws, grab a handful of the plugs and drop them into the holes and LIGHTLY tap them flushIf you have the patience you can pick plugs that most closely match the decking's pattern and the plugs disappear even up close.

The product works great, the special socket counter sets the screws enough to allow the Trex matching plugs to put in place to hide the screws giving the appearance of no hardware used to fasten the boards.

Overall, the system works nicely. However, when only drilling the pilot hole with the bit provided, about 50% of the time the screw would not go all the way in to its intended depth. I drilled another pilot hole just under .25” in diameter about .25” in depth to allow for the screw to go all the way in without material accumulating under the screw head and preventing it from reaching its proper depth. I used several wraps of duct tape on the drill bit to make sure it only went to the .25” depth.

The spring broke in the tool after just a few uses. Not sure if there was a defect or user error but I notified the company that it had broken and they shipped me a new tool immediately. Very pleased with the customer service and looking forward to completing our deck renovation.
