I like to stay in shape and thought this would be provide a good workout for my glutes. It’s a simple machine that uses a pulley system to make the stairs function, and I appreciate the simple design.Unfortunately it is just a little too small for me (I’m 5’9”, and most of my height is in my legs). When I full extend, the step hits the bottom. I don’t think it hurts the machine, but it’s jarring for me.PROS- easy to assemble- has step counter- good glute/core workout- small footprint for storage- good value- lightweightCONS- not for tall people- cannot adjust resistanceThis stair climber machine could definitely be useful in the right situation. My preteen daughter loves it. I practically have to chase her off of it.

This piece of exercise equipment is poorly made. The counter does not work and the step goes straight to the ground and hits the frame. It was a gift for my daughter and I will be returning it.

Once I figured out how to assemble the Bodywaker vertical climber, the actual product itself is 4-4.5 stars. Unfortunately, with the difficulty of assembly and the loss of the foldability, this became a 3-star product. Details below:PROS - At the current price of $129.99, this is one of the more affordable home exercise machines that supports users up to 300 lbs. - Even when it's not folded up, the machine does not take up much space. - It doesn't take long on this machine to feel like I'm getting a good workout in. - Doesn't make much noise.CONS - The instruction manual is difficult to understand (it is not written in natural, native English) and incomplete. Also, the parts list is confusing because there are two different knobs but only 1 type of knob is listed in the manual. Tip: The knobs with the short thread are for locking the frame in place in Step 1 and the knobs with the long thread are for locking the handle bar in place in the final step. - The holes for the short knobs in Step 1 are misaligned, so it's impossible to install the knobs as instructed in the manual. I fought with the metal frame for a while to no avail, until I realized I could loosen the screws above the knob holes, then install the knobs, and re-tighten the screws afterward. - Having to go through the process of installing the short knobs means I can't fold the machine away without undoing all that and re-doing it when I'm ready to use the machine again, so I am forced to leave it in its fully unfolded state at all times. The foldability and ease of storage was a major selling point for me, so this is disappointing. - It took some adjusting to figure out how to use this machine without putting too much load on my knees. - The steps do not glide smoothly or steadily enough for me to feel comfortable climbing without holding on to the handlebar.

This stepper is a decent product thus far, but could use some work. I think the highlight here is it's ability fold fold away nice and compact, much like a step ladder. The quality of the item unfortunately isnt great. First off the uprights of the body have ripped up plastic on top (shown in pictures 1 and 2). This item is brand new and shouldn't arrive damaged, even if it doesn't necessarily affect performance. The holes to insert the left and right knobs are slightly off from where they need to be. You kind of have to flex the frame a bit toward the front to get one in, and toward the back to get the other in. This makes actually folding and setting it up much more a nuisance than it should be. The railing has 3 seperate heights, none of which are tall enough for me (at 6 foot). I have to bend at the waist to use it, which over time will lead to lower back issues. Functionally, it works, though is not too smooth. If you keep up your speed, however, and don't let the pedals hit the floor it's ok enough. The whole pulley system seems a bit cheaply made, and I question it's longevity. I do wish there was a way to increase/decrease resistance also. The counter is fine for counting reps, though I would never trust it in terms of calorie counting. All in all it's just fine. Not something I would really recommend, but not something I would say absolutely stay away from either. Time will tell as to its longevity and durability.
