Ended up returning. Had it to flip a dust collector on but it would respond to the remote only sometimes (whether trying to on or off). Range of just a few feet.

This product is great for the elderly. This smart switch is the perfect gift for someone who is not all tech savvy. There is no need for a smartphone or application with this product! It is a great value for your money because of how simple it is, you simple press off on the remote control and it turns off. Very simple small and functional!

This smart outlet works exactly as described and was a great gift for my grandpa who has limited mobility! He uses it to remotely turn on his space heater and it works great from a distance of about 20 feet.

I made a router table and I have my 2 1/4 HP router in it. I built a box around it so that I could capture the dust in a shop vac. Because of this encloser you need to remove one of the panels and switch on or off the router. This is not too safe, so I use this remote as a sort of kill switch. So now when I go to turn on my router I can close it up in the dust proof encloser and activate it from the remote. I originally had it hooked to one of those foot activated switches (called a dead man switch), but i did not like that setup because it was too easy to accidentally step on the trigger and you have to keep foot pressure on the switch at all times. This remote works great and if I have an emergency, I can shut down the router quickly.You do need to be fairly close to the plug to activate the remote, but you do not need to point it directly at it for it to work. They list the distance at 100 ft. I tested it nowhere close to that, but I don't really need more than 3-10 feet anyway.This outlet remote worked great for my needs and so I can definitely recommend it.....

My bed does not allow me to reach the lamp on my bedside table without getting out of the bed to turn out the light. This remote control saves me from getting up to turn out the light.it was very easy to install and I am very pleased!!
