Why raise a bed frame?

There are many reasons why someone may want to raise their bed higher off the floor. Some of the most common reasons include creating more under bed storage space, making it easier for those with mobility issues to get in and out of bed, and allowing for more comfortable sleep positions. Additionally, some people simply prefer the look of a higher bed.

Installing bed risers on a metal bed frame is a simple and effective way to achieve this goal. Bed risers are essentially small platforms that are placed under each leg of the bed frame, lifting the bed higher off the ground. They come in a variety of sizes and styles, allowing you to customize the height and look of your bed.

To install bed risers on a metal bed frame, follow these simple steps:

1. Remove any existing furniture legs or caps from the bottom of the bed frame.

2. Choose the appropriate size and style of bed risers for your needs. Be sure to select bed risers that are designed to support the weight of your bed and any additional weight that may be placed on it, such as mattresses, bedding, and people.

3. Place one bed riser under each leg of the bed frame. Make sure that the bed risers are positioned evenly and securely.

4. Carefully lift the bed frame onto the bed risers, ensuring that each leg of the bed frame is securely seated in its corresponding bed riser.

5. Test the stability of the bed to ensure that it is securely raised off the ground and will not wobble or shift.

Here are some of the most common reasons why people choose to use bed risers:

Here are some of the most common reasons why people choose to use bed risers:

1. Under-bed storage: By raising your bed higher off the ground, you can create more space underneath for storage. This can be particularly useful in small bedrooms or apartments, where space is at a premium.

2. Improved mobility: For elderly, disabled, or injured individuals, getting in and out of bed can be a challenge. By elevating the bed, you can make it easier for these individuals to access the bed and get in and out comfortably.

3. Sleep comfort: Some people simply prefer the look and feel of a higher bed. Additionally, raising the bed can allow for more comfortable sleep positions, particularly for those with back or joint pain.

4. Aesthetic appeal: A higher bed can give your bedroom a more luxurious or elegant look, particularly if you choose bed risers that are aesthetically pleasing or match the style of your bed frame.

Considerations when chosing bed risers.

When choosing bed risers, it is important to consider the weight capacity and stability of the risers. Heavy duty bed risers are a good choice if you have a particularly heavy bed or plan to store a lot of items under the bed. Additionally, look for bed risers that have a non-slip surface to prevent the bed from sliding or shifting.

In addition to traditional bed risers, there are also other options for raising your bed off the ground. Bed lifts, for example, are typically designed to raise the entire bed frame off the ground, rather than just the legs. Bed lifts are often made of sturdy materials, such as steel or plastic, and can support a significant amount of weight.

Bed raisers and bed blocks are also similar to bed risers but are often larger and more robust. These are a good choice if you have a particularly heavy bed or need to elevate the bed even higher off the ground.

When choosing the right bed risers for your needs, consider the size and weight of your bed, as well as the amount of weight you plan to store under the bed. Additionally, be sure to choose bed risers that are designed to work with your specific bed frame style and size.

Overall, raising your bed higher off the ground can provide several benefits, from creating more storage space to improving sleep comfort. With the right bed risers and installation process, it is quick and easy to achieve a higher, more comfortable bed.

I needed a way to raise the bed in my spare bdrm for storage. These worked great! The glides look and feel like the existing glides that came with the bedframe. From the bottom of the metal bedframe to the floor, there is a clearance of about 10 inches. While sitting on the bed, the glides do feel sturdy, in my opinion. I attached a few pictures so you can see how much the bedframe was raised off the floor. I can now keep storage containers under the bed.

Wish I would have gotten these years ago. The wheels that came with the frame wore my carpet. I can now move the bed with my knee.

Replaced bed frame rollers that allowed the bed to move around. The frame had 2 fixed center supports so the 4 end stands had to match the height of the center supports. These were the solution.I wish they came with an additional nut on each stand to lock the existing one in place. For now, I'll just hope the stands hold their adjustment over time. If not, I'll add locking nuts.

Easy to install. Not sure if it's because of the high setting I had it on or the test we put them through but the legs started to bend so we put them to a lower height of they hold up better will change my review

These fit the angle iron bed frames perfectly & are of excellent quality. I was able to thread the glide all the way up & lower the bed. Had casters on the bed frame but new matresses are thicker which increases the height of the bed. These were the perfect solution to get the bed lower (a more normal height) making it easier to get in & out of.
