This works great to keep the raccoons out! Those buggers are pretty smart and with this latch they can try to knock it over all they want but it will remain close!!! easy to install, quick opening and durable!

These simple devices keep the bin lids closed, even when the high winds come through. Simple to install and easy to unlatch when I take the garbage and recycling out. I bought one for each bin.

I have been looking at these trash bin locks for a while - we have organic waste and raccoons, not a good mix, so we’re looking for a better remedy other than a heavy rock on top. This strap lock design has many *ADVANTAGES* I really liked:- it doesn’t require drilling (since the trash bins are technically owned by the city)- it is one hand maneuverable (so much better than my rock, and many of the double strapped locks)- it is definitely well thought out: a) with its way to clip it into the lip to use to open and b) a way to have it stored in unlock position to not get entangled when bin is out on trash collection day* FIT and FUNCTIONALITY *:- our trash bins seem to be a little more challenging and had a couple of small hiccups, but none that prevented me from using the strap -> see picturesa) our front doesn’t have a handle to clip it in for closure, but we found a lip further down that worked - and b) the lid joints in the back had an extra enforcement in the middle, but again could be overcome by slightly moving that clip sideways- the red clips fit well, and I especially like the front finger loop that indeed lets you open the clip with just one hand then clip it into the actual lid and open the lid with it- the belt strap is about 1” wide and was just barely long enough to fit over the lid, but again we had to stretch it far due to our bin design (-> a little bit more length would have been great)- storing the strap for trash pickup by clipping it to the wheel rod worked, but you had to twist the strap, and it dangles a little - so we will see how that goes (-> hopefully it won’t snag on the trash truck)So now for the *BUT* ( Materials)- While I mentioned already it could be just a little longer, and locking the strap to the back during trash pickup may not be ideal …- the big issue is: the entire system works on the strap being very elastic -! And we are talking outdoors with pollutants, and worst enemy sun —> so I am a little concerned about how long this strap may last?; likewise to a lesser? degree this too goes for the clips which are made of springy plastic! How long before weathering will wear out the plastic? The clips in the front will be used and stressed every time you open and close the bin!- therefore: for having to replace the lock potentially rather frequently it feels overpriced! - It’s the most expensive trash bin lock I’ve come across until now.==> Questions around durability of materials and pricing but in principle a unique and superior idea.🌟 4 STARS⭐️ -> (*My RATE SCALE*: 5=perfect; 4=minor imperfections; 3=on fence; not sure if I’d buy again; 2= too many problems; 1= shouldn’t be sold or is dangerous).

We were using a Wesnoy Security Strap to keep the lid of our trashcan closed in the high winds we get around here. This works as well as the Wesnoy strap -- for now. The hook on the Wesnoy is much stronger and sturdier than this one. The BinClaw hook is weak enough that it's already losing its curve. I don't expect it to last much longer, and we've only had it a little over a week.
