Although Tieguanyin varietals are native to Anxi county in Fujian province, many other areas in China and some in Taiwan are now also cultivating this varietal. There are apparent differences between the various Tieguanyin varietals, each with its own unique characteristics.

I used to be a tea buyer and was always impressed by the quality of teas sourced by The Tao of Tea. This is a darker roast, high mountain oolong from Taiwan and a nice example of Tigyanyin. Darker roasted oolongs have a smoky, full-bodied flavor. Reviews complaining of bitter taste are likely steeping too long. Oolongs should be steeped more than once. I’d recommend steeping for 2-3 minutes for first steep and 4-5 minutes for additional steepings.

I usually only write reviews for something that is wrong with a product. I bought the Toa of Tea Oolong Green Dragon and had never tried oolong tea before. The flavor was lite mild and it was only 8$ for 3.5 oz. This fire oolong tea has a good flavor that isn't too strong. I brewed two teaspoons once and then boiled some more water and used the same tea that I had already used once and the flavor was slightly watered down and the good flavor was still there and stronger that the green dragon. The flavor almost tastes like coffee and has a smoky, chocolate rustic flavor. I really like it.

I found this tea to be very bitter and smoky. It reminds me of roasted coffee beans.

Thank you for a quick and no cost replacement of two canisters of strong fire oolong! It is one of my favorites. Full bodied, lingering smooth notes and satisfying. A gem in the offerings.Mine were simply mislabeled - a common occurrence in any fulfillment house- after my 13 th reorder. You customer service needs five stars. It is as good as your tea- and that says a lot about your company and the owners who I met.Warm regardsGurucharan KhalsaAliso Viejo CA

I live tea. Tea is engined within me. This is a Taiwanese oolong and brews to a golden green. It extremely smooth with zero bitterness. It has a light sweet smell and taste with a little floral notes. I really recommend this tea. (Make sure you have good tea pot or tea strainer do you can reused to the leaves as the 2nd brew is better than the first!

Not the best Ti Quan Yin. I have ever had but when you consider the task involved in finding the real thing, the affordability and availability makes it a 5 Star Purchase. I spent 60+ years in the coffee tea business so I can talk all day about Taiwan teas.

Interesting darker roast, good for when your feeling like having something different. More suited for a rainy day tea, not so much a everyday roast.
