In outfitting a new home theater, I needed to hang six speakers from the walls and ceiling. I found the perfect brackets that would allow for getting the right angles, but it meant attaching them to the speaker boxes somehow. Not wanting to drive screws directly into the backs of the speakers, I really wanted to be able the thread machine screws instead.I bored the appropriate size holes into the backs of the speakers in the correct pattern, and took note that the backs were made of MDF. As a long-time woodworker, here's the recipe I used to finish this: 1) I threaded these inserts into the backs of the speaker boxes, 2) removed the inserts, 3) mixed up some 5-minute epoxy, 4) saturated the threaded MDF holes with epoxy, and then 5) cranked the inserts back tightly in place.I let the epoxy cure overnight (it's not very strong after only the 5 minutes!) and hung the rather hefty speaker boxes the following day. They are there for the duration. These inserts are great and inexpensive. Highly recommended.

If you use wood inserts, these are as good as any I have tried, which really isn't that many but these worked without issue. I have not ran into any issues that would be consistent with this type of product such as stripped threads ext. They were easy to install and included more than I needed.

I make lots of projects with laser cut plywood, and sometimes I need to have adjustable feet, or want to bolt together pieces instead of gluing, etc. That's where these threaded inserts really shine. The set I ordered came with 80 pieces or inserts, a brad point drill bit, and an allen wrench for driving the insert into the wood.I tested on a 6mm thick piece of plywood, and drilled a fairly clean hole, then used the allen wrench to drive the insert into the plywood. The nut can be driven flush with the plywood, and it holds really great, allowing you to bolt pieces together very tightly, or you could even drill these in the bottom of table legs to add leveling feet. I am finding them very handy around the house and in the garage.I am happy to give the Athyuth Threaded Insert Set a 5 star value rating because of their economical price, the included drill bit and allen wrench, and how useful I am finding them.

This is a cool kit for any woodworker to have on hand. You can make a piece of furniture (or whatever) with the ability to come apart without the worry of wood screws wearing out a hole. However, there are a few things that keep this from a perfect review. The drill bit that comes with it is incredibly dull. I tested this on a small piece of scrap pine and it took far too long to drill the pilot hole; I'll use my own bits in the future. It's also nearly impossible to get the insert flush with the wood unless you add a counter sink; any bit included should have been the depth of the insert with a countersink. It would have been more useful and practical to cut the number of inserts in half and added a corresponding number of right-sized screws, since not everyone has enough of that size to do a project. Keep these things in mind if you decide on this product.

I've not used products like this before but installation was very simple. The kit includes a drill bit and an Allen wrench for screwing in the inserts. I tried one on a scrap piece of wood and had no issues. The insert did come out the first time I tried to unscrew the test screw I used, but not the second when I tightened the insert a bit more into the wood before inserting a 6M screw. It might be worth putting a drop or two of wood glue on them before inserting for a stronger hold depending on the wood you're using. These will be great to have around though.

I gave this product 3 stars because the drill bits in this kit was not very sharp. I ended up using a 5/16 pointed drill bit which was a fraction smaller than the one that was in this kit.

I have 3 little weenie dogs and so I tend to build ramps and stairs for them to have around the house and outside in the yard. These are perfect in making it easy to just put pieces together and in mu opinion, makes projects much more sturdy, compared to just drilling everything together. This is a great value for as many as you get. They are going to come in handle when I start on other projects around the house!
