There is only one decimal point on the digital read out. For "degrees" the readout is fine. Two degrees will read as "2.00". Great. When you switch to percent however there is no decimal point in the readout at all. "2.00" degrees will show as "34". Makes no sense and obviously wildly incorrect if you know the numbers. I was only able to find out what was happening by using an online calculator. "2.00" degrees = "3.49" percent slope. So I deduced 34 is supposed to be 3.4. They couldn't align the number so it could use the same decimal point as shown with degrees? Or add a second decimal point that lights up in the proper place for percent (since it only shows 1 decimal point instead of 2)?I shouldn't have to use a calculator to figure out what a digital level is telling me.

I was excited to find a digital level that is less than 10 inches and has measurement markers. I wish it has measurements at the bottom and back of the ruler and measure in inches. The ruler has only measurement on the face side and in metric. I also wish it has a horizontal and vertical liquid level just for sanity check and when you can't see the digits screen. I almost returned it when I first tried to use it because it would kept showing "ERR" when I placed the ruler down with the digital face facing upward.--Had to read the instruction to find out why there is an "ERR" displayed. Once I understood its limitation, I could have lived with them.--However, the leveler is incorrect when comparing the horizontal leveling with ruler upside-down vs rightside-up. Naturally, you would try to figure out the horizontal leveling using the ruler rightside-up, but testing the ruler upside-down showing that it's off by 0.4 degrees.--I can see the dip with a four feet siderails (at least 1/8 of inch or more off). e.g. When I use the ruler horizontally rightside-up, it will say I need to drop the right side down to get to 0 degrees. When I use the ruler horizontally upside-down, it will say I need to raise the right side up to get to 0 degrees. I would say the plus is that the digital display actually flips when I have the ruler upside-down, which is nice. I'm returning the item and hopefully that I just had a dud or that they'll make improvement.Updated: 12/11/2024 Added an extra star. I was able to recalibrate it to get better accuracy. However, the flaw about different degrees when using upside-down vs right-side-up still holds. It is now 0.3 degrees off with the right-side-up being correct. I'll keep the item to use for now since it's the shortest ruler I could find with a digital level.

It is what it is for the price Took a chance and got burned. If you need accuracy time and again buy a more expensive on.

Measures inside and outside angles with good accuracy. Also a nice touch that it comes with a bag. Edges of the steel ruler are sharp, use sandpaper or a file to prevent them from cutting your fingers.

I've used a number of gauges like this, but none of them comes close to the ease and accuracy of this one. This has made my life so much easier. I would definitely recommend this to my friends!

There is a video on the page showing how to install the given battery. It's very easy to use, and I use this gauge for all kinds of things. It works exactly as I expected!
