Had this a couple of months and is working as expected. Just turn the knob and it disconnects the negative terminal of the battery.Just a note to beware of the ramifications of disconnecting the battery. It will clear your radio settings and your car computer settings. Maybe even your car codes. For me this has not been a problem but might be a problem on some other vehicles.I would recommend this product.

I installed this battery switch on my Mazda Miata due to constantly having a dead battery because we don’t drive it enough, it was easy to install and has a low enough profile that it can still be operated when mounted on to of the battery. Even after multiple engine starts the switch does not get warm. Worth the price and I plan to order more for other uses.

Some top terminal batteries have recessed terminals which limits the direction of installation.

The female end is too small to fit easily over a standard U.S. lead-acid battery post. The male post is too small to properly mount a standard U.S. battery cable female end. When trying to tighten down the battery cable female end, the plastic broke and made the product unusable. However, it did expose the inside where I could see there was only one small contact point that would be made for the transfer of current. It would be totally inadequate for anything more than a few amps draw.

I have an old 4runner which I don't drive very often and the battery used to drain all the time. I got this battery disconnect and now when I go to use the car, I just turn the knob and I can start my car and be on my way. Now, every time you disconnect the battery, the car computer resets but since this is a much older car, it doesn't seem to affect it in any way. Installation was easy even though the way my cables were laid out, I had to bend one of the cables. Overall, it works and does what it's supposed to do.

I ordered this ‘Car Battery Switch Disconnect’ to use in my ‘spare’ pickup truck. It doesn’t get driven a whole lot, and the battery sometimes goes dead. I have a similar switch on my motorhome batteries, so I figured this one might be a good option.This ‘Car Battery Switch Disconnect’ is quite large. It’s fits under the hood of my truck with no problem, but I could definitely see an issue getting it to fit underneath the hood of a compact car.This switch does work as intended was easy to hook up. No problem there.But there is one thing I don’t like about this ‘Car Battery Switch Disconnect’…it only turns one way. The switch we have in our motorhome like this turns a full 360 degrees so you have two on positions and two off positions. This one only turns 90 degrees and only had one on/off position. It’s a minor complaint I know.All in all, this ‘Car Battery Switch Disconnect’ works as it should. The quality is ok. It’s just very large. Make sure you have the under-the-hood room before ordering it.
