About this item

  • 8 ounce kit. Two-part flexible epoxy adhesive produces permanent, structural bonds with high flex tolerances
  • Easy 1:1 mix ratio, long working time, and fast cure time for reliable results—every time.
  • Waterproof bonding of wood, metal, fiberglass, glass, most plastics, stone, and masonry.
  • Can be used in cooler temperatures, on damp surfaces, and can even cure underwater.
  • Ideal viscosity for bonding joints or wetting out fiberglass fabric and tape to create flexible laminates. SIZE: 8 OUNCES

Two-part TotalBoat FlexEpox has the powerful adhesive bonding strength epoxy is known for, but it’s much more flexible than traditional epoxy resin/hardener formulas, and can absorb stresses caused by excessive flexing without delaminating or cracking.

It creates permanent, waterproof structural bonds on metals and is perfect for repairing leaky aluminum boats. Also adheres strongly to fiberglass, most plastics, stone, glass, and wood—even oily domestic and tropical hardwoods that are typically very difficult to glue.

This versatile adhesive has a honey-like viscosity that’s thick enough not to drain out of bonded joints, yet fluid enough to wet out fiberglass cloth and tape easily. Perfect for putting skid plates on canoes and kayaks or fabricating laminated parts that are subjected to extreme flexing.

FlexEpox forms tough, dependable bonds whether it’s applied to dry or damp surfaces, and can be used in temperatures as cool as 40°F and as warm as 125°F. In the right conditions, it can even cure underwater.

It’s so easy to use, with a simple 1 to 1 mix ratio by volume and generous working time for bonding and clamping. At 72°F, pot life is 40 minutes, working time (thin film) is 75 minutes, initial cure time is 3-4 hours, workable cure time is between 7 to 10 hours. Wait a minimum of 24 hours before subjecting to high loads.

TotalBoat FlexEpox compares to West System G/Flex 650, but maintains its form better at higher temperatures, and is a better value. Compared to typical one-part flexible marine urethane adhesives, FlexEpox is more flexible and has better long-term performance.

The 8 oz. Kit contains one 4 oz. bottle of resin and one 4 oz. bottle of hardener. The 32 oz. Kit contains one 16 oz. bottle of resin and one 16 oz. bottle of hardener. All TotalBoat products are developed by boaters for boaters, to provide great value and great results. We know what works and what doesn't. 100% made in the USA.

I used this product to repair a cracked Yakima Rocket Box. The box is made of thin ABS plastic which epoxy will bond to. There is a lot of vibration when driving with one of these on the roof so I needed something that will stay a bit flexible. Because the interior of the box had a combination of vertical , horizontal and everything in between I couldn’t use this right out of the bottle. It would just run everywhere . For this application I mixed in with the epoxy a silica colloidal thickener. I know. WTF is that? It’s a product that West Systems makes. It’s inexpensive and can be bought on Amazon. I use it when gluing furniture parts together when I don’t want the epoxy to be runny. Mix it in until the epoxy stops running or flowing. Good luck.🍀

I used this for a surfboard project. It was easy to mix, had good working and cure times, wet out cloth fairly well and sands easily.

Adhesion seems fine although not enough time is passed to know for sure how well it will hold up. But the product is very difficult to work with. It runs all over. If you're working on a perfectly flat and level surface, you may be alright. But anything off level, the product runs downhill. If you're working on a 90 degree surface, forget it. The epoxy will drain completely out. Pettit Flexpoxy 7076 is the flexible epoxy to use. It stays right where you put it even working upside down or at 90 degrees. It costs twice as much as this TotalBoat Flexepox but ease of use and final result makes it well worth it.

I used TotalBoat FlexEpox to glue Ipe table legs to the apron. It was easy to mix and bonded well to the Ipe.

I used this epoxy to laminate strips of wood to make a greenland-style kayak paddle, thinking that the lasting flex would complement the natural bending of the wood over time. I've only used the paddle a few times but so far I love the result. Will check back in a year or sowith an update.one year update: the adhesive is still perfect, the paddle is still in use a year later and going strong.

What I mean is, if you are buying this because you think it might do the trick, or if you think it's probably the same as this other thing, or if you think it's glue or paint, it's not any of those things. It's specifically for what it is used for. If you know what that is then this product is for you. If you don't know what I'm talking about then contact Total Boat or buy a different product. This product met and exceeded all of my expectations. It is strong, hard, difficult to use, and perfect. Thanks Total Boat.

Great product for numerous types of applications. I use for my boats. I have used it with carbon fiber cloth in areas of the hull that get worked in the waves. Excellent adhesion to hardwoods and even oily woods (cedar hulls: kayaks and canoes). Better yet, the price is right.

So far so good. It didn't smell bad. I didn't realize it was going to be Brown. It is very thick and gooey and it was hard to apply with a brush. I liked that it could be used when it was damp out. It set up fast. We'll see how long it lasts.
