The fit seems great at first, but, the actual wear and tear of the rubber rubbed my horses legs raw to the point of bleeding. It's 50° outside so there's not a lot of moisture that I would have assumed to cause the friction. Maybe instead of rubber some wool wouldn't have rubbed him raw.I will add the durability is very tough. This horse is a pawing machine and was unable to break them.

I bought these for my dad to use as a Christmas present, and I chose these because each hobble buckled independently. I thought that was important because these are highly likely going to get muddy, nylon will get stiff after it has gotten wet a time or two, and I knew my dad would get frustrated either completely unthreading the traditional nylon hobbles, or frustrated picking up the hoof to place it through a hobble loop. The length of chain in between the hobbles was a concern for me as my dad doesn't have small Quarter Horses, but he used them for the first time this past Sunday and he said they were easy to put on. The picture he sent me showed the distance between the two hobbles just fine. He's using them to put up large hotwire gaps as he moves his cows around allowing him to hobble his horse and have both hands free.

Sturdy hobbles, I like the lining. The only thing I didn't like= I wish there was another inch or two (no more though) of distance between the leg cuffs. Using them overnight my wide chested gelding had to stand with his legs a touch too close together.

These worked perfectly for a very impatient, pawing pony. During training sessions in teaching the pony to stand quietly he would paw incessantly. Once the hobbles went on, it did not take long to break his bad habit. Love these hobbles.
