Used the snap ring given, it immediately flew off and shot atf fluid everywhere. Luckily, I smelled it and then started to see the smoke. Just use your factory one. Other than that, everything seems to be working perfectly.

If you've got a 4L60e with that sluggish/squishy shift, do yourself a favor and put one of these. Nice firm shifts from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd. Allows the rpm's to get higher between shifts so you get to a nicer torque curve. It’s a P.I.A with stock cats in the way much easier with long tube headers. Fast shipping and would recommend the ShiftRite servo to anyone looking for a noticeable difference in shifting! 5 stars

It fixed my lazy shifts in my yukon denali with a 4l65e this is must have upgrade unless you want to have your trans rebiult lol wasnt hard to install had to take the trans mount loose to pry it all over so I could get the servo in and out but not a big deal could racket strap it over but what ever good luck guys I hope this helps your decision oh and you need to reuse the most inward spring. This unit supplies everything but that spring

If you have a vehicle with a 4l60e you will love this mod..I have 98 Silverado that never shifted right.. I put this servo in and the difference is night and day... shifts like I always thought it should.. it also allows the rpm’s to get higher between shifts so you get to the nicer torque curve.. wish id known anout this years ago.. its easy to do and well worth the money.

Easy enough install for anyone used to working on cars. I have 180k miles on 4l60e and was starting to notice increased tran Temps. This helped firm up 2nd gear and less slippage lowered Temps.

In my 4l60e i was having slipping between 2nd to 3rd gear it seemed so i figured id try this to hopefully save me a rebuild. The old servo i pulled out had ALOT of play and this new servo pretty much firmed up the shifts and it doesnt “slip” no more between 2nd and 3rd. Very happy.

I installed this in about 5-10 minutes, using a rack of course. There's several videos of it on YouTube for installation. If you've got a 4l60e with that sluggish/squishy shift, do yourself a favor and put one of these. Nice firm shifts from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd. This servo applies the band that goes around the forward clutch drum quicker and firmer. Less slip equals less heat, equals longer transmission life. I'll never understand why the factory doesn't fix these transmissions right. They've only been using this same trans since like 1988, which started out as the 700r4. Come on GM, let's get it right!
