Wanted a tray-style hitch carrier.I didn’t have the budget for a Kuat/Thule those would have been over $1000.Pros: VersatilityCons: frame straps can be a hassle since they are loose and not fixed to the frame. This was a great looking option that checked all the boxes and some I didn’t expect. The tire holders are extendable (shorter or longer) which is something I hadn’t considered. Very sturdy and easy to install. Storage in my garage with some ladder hooks.

This is a review for the 4-bike Trimax Road-MAX Hitch Mount Tray. After 3 months of usage and various trips near and far with 3 bikes mounted, I am glad I haved purchased this unit. The bike rack is solely built by thick heavy steel and covered by a thick coat powder paint. You can tell that the rack will weather the time well. Bikes are secured onto the rack by a 3-point fastening system. One belt to tighten and secure the bike's frame and two other belts to lock down the front and rear tires. This design is simple and intuitive, it is actually smart. Here is the summary:Pros:- Affordable- Strong and durable- 3-point securing system- Kit also comes with locking pins, lock and key, custom made 19mm wrench- Foldable- Elegance in simplicityCons:- All steel construction makes rack a bit heavy- 3 bikes mounting is good but 4 bikes can be a little crowdedTips:- After sliding the rack into the hitch and the locking bolt is aligned, I use a white masking tape to mark the spot so that I know exactly how far to slide in next time- Try to fasten the bike's frame first before securing the tires- Always fold up the rack after dismounting bikes so that other people won't run into it

I purchased this rack for my family camping trips. I used this for about 200 miles trips and it works pretty well. It's sturdy, relatively easy to use, no excessive sounds during the trip. Easy to install. Some cons:It's not declining, so your trunk will be locked when you put bikes on the rack. It's relatively ok for camping trips, local bike trips, but might be an issue on a longer trips. You would need to put you bikes off to open the trunk :-)But the price is much better then Thule or Yakima. So I would say it worths the money and good budget fit for accidential usage. If you are planning to use more often I would lean to more expensive models

Very happy with this bike carrier.Strong, easy to use and enough space between bikes.Only thing to know, bikes must be remove from the rack in order to open the rear door of the car. That said, for the price, I highly recommand it.

Works as described. Mounts easily and holds bikes securely. We never worry taking our bikes on trips with this.

Good product that's easy to install and use. The bikes are well attached to the rack with some adjustable straps for the wheels and the frame. However, I wish there were more attachments to make it more secure. It also folds up nicely when not in use and is fairly light weight to remove and install. My main pet-peeve was that the price for the rack dropped by about 30 dollars after I had already bought it (after it had already dropped in price previously), so there appears to be a lot of pricing fluctuations with this product.

Este rack es excelente para tirones de 2". Las bicis se van sujetas a la perfecctión y tu puedes ajustar el rack para el tamaño de bici que vas a transportar. Es muy bueno y soporta hasta 4 bicicletas.

Excellent bike carrier especially for the price. It's not the most elegant but it does the job very well. It's light compared to other bike carriers and I can mount it to my Nissan Armada by myself. Initially, I used it to carry 4 bikes (one 24-inch, two 26-inch and one 27.5-inch tires) to and from the local trail that's about 10 miles one-way from home.I delayed the review until after I put this bike carrier to the ultimate test. During our annual family road trip, we got to bring our bikes from Texas all the way up to Acadia National Park in Maine - about 5,170 miles round-trip! On the road, I didn't feel any rattling and swaying as the anti-rattle threaded bolt worked really well. Even with the occasional potholes, bumps and uneven roads the carrier didn’t budge. Excellent performance by a light and inexpensive bike carrier. If you have bikes with bigger than 24" tires, most likely you will not be able to open the lift gate glass of your SUV. I didn't follow the recommendation of loading the smallest & lightest bike last. I loaded the smallest bike first so I have (barely) enough clearance to open the rear glass when I needed to. It was a very long road trip with all our stuff loaded into the back of the SUV so I needed the access and only on occasions like this will I use this loading scheme. Finally, its worth mentioning here that a lot of people took notice of the rack. The salesman from the local bike shop wanted to get one and also there were some people in the parking lots and trailheads taking pictures of the rack.Pros: light, does not rattle and sway, does not cost more than any of our bikes!Cons: straps can fall off and get lost if not looped into the latch when not in use, cannot be reduced to a 2-bike carrier (not an issue for me but may be for some)Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase and will recommend to anyone looking for a carrier that will both not break the back and bank.

I researched bike racks for my kia sorrento...This bike rack rack holds 4 bikes nicely. It is heavy duty and sturdy. Not happy that these directions were pictures and no words. I miss directions with words! I followed the pictures and in no time I had this mounted on the back of my car. Load bikes starting closest to the trunk and working your way out alternating the handle bars. One pointing right, next one left and so on. You secure one bike at time with a strap to the center (comes with) and then each wheel gets a plastic strap that goes between the spokes (already mounted to the rack so you don't lose it). Each one of the bike mounts is adjustable meaning you can make it smaller or longer to suit the bike you are trying to load. I have men's bike, 26 in ladies mountain bike, 20 inch kids bike and a old 12 speed and they all fit! You don't have to buy anything extra with this bike rack (no extra bars or straps)..it comes with everything you need to mount 4 bikes securely, wrench, carter pins, mounting screw. I did order a lock for the hitch that was suggested my Amazon and IT was the wrong size! So pay attention to the bolt size if you plan to purchase a locking pin for security. You can tilt the rack up and keep it on your car but it is so easy to take on and off I just put it on and off when we need it! Yes it heavy but I'm 105 pounds and I can lift it by myself and mount it to the car. It looks exactly as pictured and does everything it says in the description! NO wobbly sounds going down the road. Bikes stay in place with very little movement. 5 Stars.
