This is the second set I purchased. The first one about five years ago. This tool makes installing the last pieces of hardwood so much easier. Because hardwood sometimes warps a little, it needs to be fastened back until it can be nailed/stapled.I purchased the second set not to replace the first one but to complement it. Because I prefer using long hardwood pieces for the first and last rows, installing them sometimes require two of this. You can install hardwood flooring without them, but their use simplifies the process.

Was not sure which model to buy, but fortunately I spent a little more and bought this one, very sturdy and well made!My hardwood install went much easier with this, it’s design made it easy to use with one hand when necessary.I will pass this one down to my boys and they may even be able to pass it down to their kids, it’s that well made!

This is not a pro tool, but those cost A LOT more money. Works decent in getting those last couple of boards against the wall. Won't be as tight as your floor nailer, but good enough. As others have noted, you need something under it to prevent it from scratching your floor. The bubble wrap it was sent it worked great for me, I used temp (rubber) cement to glue it to the bottom. I didn't find the release mechanism that difficult. Play with the tool for a while before you use it. Once you know how the pins work, releasing it is much easier.Used on 3/4 hickoryRecommend this for the weekend warrior finishing up their floor, I would NOT recommend this for a pro who is going to do this a lot.

Worked perfectly. Place some felt under it so you don't scratch the wood. I cut a little scrap piece (about 2" wide and 1.5" thick) that had the "groove" to mate with the "tounge" of the piece I was trying to install. This let me crank the board really tight without worrying about damaging the one I was installing. In addition to installing the boards near the wall, I used this to straighten boards any where in the room. I would screw down a piece of 2x4 about 6" away from the board I was putting in, then use the device to force the board u was installing flush to the previous board while I put nails on either side of the device. Vastly improved the quality of my installation, and reduced scrap.

As a professional floor installer this product is a must, using a reverse crow bar and slapping with a plastic hammer only to have it bounce back etc... days are over. Just used it to install 491 sqft of Hardwood 3/4" Red Oad Grade #2, which means the wood is not perfect. This tool was fantastic on the final board that have to be top nailed and cinched the end boards tight against the grain. Easy to use, and fast, and strong, in fact insure you have a wooden board wedged against the wall or you could put a hole in the drywall. GREAT STUFF, i relly am in love with tool, we nicknamed it "Mr. Squeeze"

This piece works well for pulling in the last few rows of hardwood flooring. It also works well for pulling slightly bowed planks into already laid flooring. You only need to temporarily fasten a block to the floor to take the place of the wall. The forks do tend to slip upwards when tightening and if you’re not careful you can mar your plank. I use a piece of groove ripped from a scrap piece of flooring to put between the tongue of the plank and the forks and apply downward pressure to protect the flooring. Overall a good choice.

Absolutely outstanding! Our bamboo floor seperates every winter because of low humidity and this tool made it a very easy and quick fix compared to what ive done in the past. Seems to be very well made and applies alot of force with ease. Just pop the shoe moulding off and cut a little hole if nessesary with a multi tool (making sure it’s underneath the top of the shoe moulding) slip this in and give it a few cranks and voila! Very impressive coming from a carpenter with 15 years experience.

Simoly brilliant.Absolutely well made and easy to useAnd its cheaper than most of the similar tools on the market.I love it.Could improve with one thing, maybe the teeth to be made smaller as to allow smaller clicks, coz you get sometimes where you wanna push the planks a bit but you end up between two clicks, either looser or harder.Other than that, its amazing and very recommended.

Works great! People saying that theyve put holes in drywall didnt have the brains to put a piece of wood in front to displace the pressure..

The True Power Jack is tool that every flooring installer should have. I put felt pads on the bottom to protect the floor from any scratches. You could also just put it on top of a sheet of paper or cardboard to protect the floor. It very solid and is a very sturdy welded fabrication. If it is not abused, I am sure it is going to last a very long time. A great tool. I have been installing flooring for over 30 years and it is just what I need to replace the old pry bar.

I bought 2 of these because I am installing 3.25 inch wide oak floor boards, I am drilling and hand nailing instead of using a nailgun because I find most of the boards, some of which are 6 foot long are warped and I was using a chisel to pry them into place and they are rock hard and tough to pry. With two of these floor jacks braced against long lengths of 2x4 I can work all the way across the room, gradually shortening the 2x4. I am able to save my arm and prevent damage to the subfloor caused with the prying. I put a thin cut of flooring with the groove against my installed floor because the Jack can slip upward and damage the edge. This slippage is probably only happening because I am using it out in the middle of the floor with long lengths of 2x4. It has a powerful crank and locks securely, saved me a lot of physical effort!! I would give them a five star but for the slippage,I use my foot to hold it down while cranking, WELL worth the money, should have bought 4!

I have used this a lot on my 1600sqft hardwood flooring project in my house. Very convenient when I start butting up against the wall. Can not see how one could do some of the boards without this affordable tool. I put some duct tape on the bottom to give a softer edge & face to ensure I do not scratch the board surfaces. Update: A small wire spring broke after 2yrs of usage--their customer service was great--they are sending a replacement for free and promptly. I really appreciate a company standing behind their product. And, a second comment--sometimes flooring boards are warped and one end needs to be pushed into place. I screw a board into the floor about 6" above the board I'm installing, then use this jack to push against that second board, pushing the flooring board into place. After done nailing, I unscrew the second board and am good. So, I can use this tool in the middle of the floor also, not just against the wall.
