With features the competition has been trying unsuccessfully to top since the days of Truman, when we pioneered the modern swivel. Pardon us for talking dirt about the other guys, but you could do a whole lot worse than Uncle Mike's.

The swivel stud was easy to install into the wood stock of my Stevens 555 Compact over/under 20ga. I used both a 5/32 drill bit and 7/32 drill bit (countersink) to install it. I drilled 1/8 inch deep using the 7/32 (countersink) and then 7/8 inch deep using the 5/32 in the center of the first hole. Then I put a drop of wood glue on it and screwed it in. Screw it in the stock slowly so you don't split the stock. For the barrel end, I applied a bit of medium threadlock on both screws. it can be a little tricky getting the screws on the barrel-end swivel to thread initially but be patient and don't crank on it too hard or you could strip them out. Just take your time.

OK I needed two sets of shotgun swivels one for a 12 ga and one for a 20 ga tried to get both in Uncle Mike's as name brand little more expensive so figure should be better quality. I could not get the correct size clamp for the 12 ga so ended buying the Tri Rock set for it at $7 less. Guess what the Tri Rock are much better quality they fitted easily no problems. With the Uncle Mikes there were sharp edges on the screws which I filed down and one of the swivels was a bitch to attach could not open it the spring loaded screw to open the swivel would stop before enough clearance had to force it back all the way so issue with thread I have attached it now and will leave the sling on as will probably fail if used a few times. Only thing better on the Uncle Mike's was the instructions Tri Rock none but if you've done these before they are not needed.

Didn't really fit the barrel well. I ended up putting a thin rubber pad between the clamp and the barrel. Other than that works good.

This swivel set is just what I need. The instructions explain how to proceed. I have ordered Uncle Mike's Gun-Tite for a good lock onto the barrel as recommended. It is the correct choice for this application IE. 0.70-0.75 for my 0.73 fit. Some reviewers seem to claim it is easily stripped. I say, be very gentle as a snug fit is all that is required. It is for my New England Westinghouse 30-06 Bannerman Sporter 1918. It is US made like a Mosin made for Russia before WWI. I am very happy with its use. Since the barrel was turned back a bit it lost the serial # but the Bolt has it, However there is no way to know if was the original one. I intend to use 3/4 loads from my reloading bench for this old Workhorse. The date for the bolt SN. gives the 1918 date as above.

i bought these for my Gamo Silent stalker Whispereverything was had excellent Fit and Finish5star product, i gave it 4 stars because the sling swivels themselves were rough on the backside (non-engraved side)and the white spacer was old and dirty looking and cracked when i tightened it.
