I got this diverter in chrome to replace an older one in our main bathroom. The spout is metal and seems well-constructed. Inside the cardboard box this is packed in you get the spout, in a foam sleeve, and the plastic reducer to use on a 1/2" threaded pipe. There are no instructions, though the info is currently in the listing images. While it is not overly complex to use the diverter having an included small piece of paper detailing the process would be much better. You put the reducer on the 1/2" treaded pipe, then spin on the spout. When I did this, the plastic reducer cracked when I completed tightening the spout which led to leaking making the setup unusable. In order to have the spout in proper alignment, you have little choice but to tighten it to a certain position so feel this is a flaw in the design. I suspect using this on a 3/4" threaded pipe where the reducer is not needed would work better. For my purposes this was not a good spout.
