I liked the concept of extra security and so I bought a set of these for a trip to Asia. I was hoping to use them as a secondary security for my hotel room. Unfortunately, door lock technology and type of door frame set up was different than in the USA, so it didn't fit and couldn't be deployed on those doors. So for the whole trip, these two heavy metal security tools were dead weight. So, this is just a warning that it may fit in the US doors, but not necessarily elsewhere in the world.

I attempted to use this portable lock in the door of a Hilton Hotel in a European capital city. It is a modernized building with the electronic locks that you can open with your mobile phone using the Hilton app. The layout of the door strike simply could not work with this item. I read the instructions carefully and watched the tutorial videos, but there was no way it could fit.I am sure this lock works well in doors where it fits the deadbolt, but in my case it was unfortunately useless.

Bought to have a bit of extra security at hotels and Air BnBs, very easy to use and gives you good peace of mind while traveling. Ended up buying a second one for my girlfriend to have for her apartment door too and she loves it just as much as I did

These are terrific! We tested them and yes easy to use.place over shock plate and close door take other side an slide over bolt.no ones opening that door quickly.kicking it would hopefully give you enough time to escape out another window or door. I strongly recommend these.especially for a cruise or hotel room when sleeping alone or just keeping family safer.very happy with purchasing these locks.I'd buy again an more.enough for whole family an friends.

I'm an airline pilot, and I spend 15 nights per month in hotels in various countries. This small device fits in my hand and is easy to put in my luggage without adding bulk or weight. I gave it 4 stars because the instructions require a couple of minutes to make sure it's installed correctly the first time. After that, it's easy to install. No one can enter your room once it's installed, even if they have a key. The small chain just keeps the two pieces from being separated and isn't required for anything else. The metal piece slides into the wall hole for the deadbolt while the red, plastic piece wedges against the door. I have only encountered one door that was too tight for this to fit, but all other doors have worked perfectly.
