I was not able to even check how good it's working because soon as I plugged it in it separated to the two parts. The item was defective and now I cannot reach the seller to be able to exchange it or get my money back!😡 if after this I won't be able to get my item Exchange then I'm just going to block the seller, and will never purchase anything from them 😤

The August 2023 Windows 10 update broke my laptop’s Bluetooth connection to my hearing aids. I used an external adapter for a while, but it had to be charged every night. I ordered a USB adapter to avoid the charging issue, but the driver didn’t work.I was pleased to see that this new adapter actually works as advertised. I turned off Bluetooth on my windows 10 laptop, plugged it in, and it downloaded the driver automatically. I restarted the laptop, paired my hearing aids, and was immediately able to listen to the laptop. That’s how plug and play should work. It’s small, white, with a black tip that looks like a button, but it isn’t. It has a small blue light that blinks to let you know it is trying to pair and goes steady when it succeeds. It works well out to about 40 feet if there are no intervening walls. It breaks up sooner with intervening walls or if I’m carrying another active Bluetooth transmitter like an iPhone. The sound is excellent since it is equalized for my ears by my hearing aids. It does use my second of two USB ports, but I can unplug it or my mouse if needed.Overall, it’s an easy way to recover from that windows update. I recommend it for that.

I purchase my HP laptop back in 2016. The specs included support for Bluetooth 4.0. Tech advancements specific to the creation of one standard network on which a multitude of devices could communicate, recently grabbed my attention. This network has been aptly named the IoT (Internet of Things). and It supports home appliances, vehicles and other physical devices. Communicating on this network requires relatively high bandwidth. Simply put, Bluetooth 4.0 does not make the grade. The 5.3 standard, operating at more than twice the speed, fully provides the needed bandwidth. This diminutive piece of hardware was successfully operating on my HP laptop within minutes. For reference, it is a model 15-ay013nr. I find it to be incredible that I could perform a meaningful upgrade on my laptop for about the cost of a trip to the local fast-food restaurant.NOTE: It was not more than a couple of days after installing this device that I subscribed to an online service that automatically ensures that all of your drivers are current. To my surprise, updated software was found for this device.

Plugged it into the front of our office PC, an HP ProDesk 600 Gen5. It was immediately recognized in Device Manager under "Network adapters" as "Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)", and in the By Connection view under a USB Root Hub as "Realtek Bluetooth 5.3 Adapter", with sub-devices of the above plus "Bluetooth Device (RDCOMM Protocol TDI)", "Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator", and "Microsoft Bluetooth LE Enumerator".I turned on a Cambridge Sound Labs OontZ Bluetooth speaker and went through the Windows Sound-->Bluetooth... Add process which took a couple of minutes (am assuming it had to download something for the Bluetooth speaker driver as this PC had not seen them before). After it had found the first OontZ speaker, I turned on the second one and had it do "Dual Pairing". It works flawlessly in the office, so I carried the speakers to the next room. No problem. Two rooms away it got a bit iffy - I could interrupt the signal if I stood in front of the speaker, but it was fine if placed where that wouldn't happen. Honestly I'd not expected it to work at all. After this checking Device Manager again in By Connection, the "Realtek Bluetooth 5.3 Adapter" --> "Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator" now has a whole tree of devices associated with the OontZ speakers. This is all very standard and exactly what one would expect; no custom one-off oddities.Bottom line: it worked on first try, connected right away, was stable at reasonable distance, and I didn't have to horse around with it to get it going. OH! Almost forgot - the blue LED is bright enough to be seen easily to be sure it is on, but diffuse and not so bright as to be annoying. It is odd how that seems to be so challenging to some manufacturers; these folks got it right.

Works well on Window 11 PC. Annoyed I had to find my external USB cd-rom drive to install the drivers. But it works well picking up my newer BT accessories.

I had problems installing this adapter and couldn't find any customer service contact numbers, email, etc. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT! I'm sending it back for a refund.Since I wrote the above review, the company has contacted me and offered to refund my money fully. This is the kind of customer service you expect from a product purchased through Amazon. Maybe I was a bit hyperbolic when I said not to purchase the product. They say they have solved the customer service contact. So, you might consider them.
