Because it was not a wind deflector, it was just a piece of plastic cutout.

I am shocked that weather tech would sell this as a bug deflator. I could have went over the hood with black duct tape & would have achieved the same result. Don’t get me wrong weathertech does have excellent products just not this one. We had a Highlander with a weathertech bug deflector & it actually attached to the underside of the hood had a curved front that at the end flared up & actually deflected the bugs . I hope they come up with a better replacement, I would buy it. But sadly I will have to get one from a different company.
