I don't actually use this cutter on pvc.I use it on copper and stainless on a regular basis. It's fantastic for tight spaces just score the pipe first before u start your cut. I've purchased 1 for my apprentice and will more than likely do it again. It is a great tool to keep in your bag.

If you have enough clearance, this is a great tool for larger size copper.

This is a beautifully-made close-quarter pipe cutter that can cut pipe just 2.5” from a wall. It is solid, nicely machined, and can adjust across a wide range of pipe diameters.Unfortunately, the knurled nut that adjusts the cutter diameter fell right off my unit on the third cut. The pipe in question was 1-1/4” copper pipe, ie nothing special for this cutter. It cut through the first two pipe sections very nicely and smoothly. I made all three cuts very gradually, ie a 1/4 turn of the nut per pass. The fundamental flaw in this design is that the entire pressure of the cut is resting against just a press-fit. If anything binds inside the loose assembly of cams/bolts/etc, then the pressure will build against the knurled nut on closing and dislodge it.Thus, if you feel anything other than finger tightness as you adjust the nut, STOP, re-open the cutter, figure out what bound inside, fix the issue, and start over. Do NOT apply more than finger tightness as you attempt to close the cutter, you will make the knurled nut pop like I did. Some might call this a feature, I call it a tradeoff between offering a very wide range of cutting diameters and the desired looseness of parts. I’m sending the first one back and hopefully the second one will last longer than three pipe cuts.

These are a special purpose cutter. They are made in Ohio and get the pipe cut but they also will cut your hand because the way the handle is built. It's a little hard to tighten and the cutter wheel is proprietary so plan on spending almost $25 to $30 for a replacement that you'll have to special order. This cutter will track up the pipe like it's making a screw so make sure you go back and forth when you're making the cut. It also leaves a large Burr on the inside of the pipe that requires major deburring. Unfortunately there's no other cutters that will do the size pipe this does with such a small radius to work in. Would I buy it again... Probably. I only bought it because one of my viewers of my YouTube channel told me about it.

All too often pipes are installed with very little spacing and these work amazing. I have dropped them once from about 12 feet up and it dented the aluminum but that’s it. They are very well made and designed. They don’t walk and cut straight every time. An absolute amazing tool to have. Wish I would have bought it sooner.
