This hooks up to the phone relatively easily. Do make sure you look at the instructions on the key combination to hit to put it in pairing mode, it shuts off pretty quickly to conserve power if it's not paired so you have to do it right. There is an app, but from what I saw aside from updating firmware it didn't really do much and as you have to search it up on the app store instead of getting a qr code link or anything in the booklet it was a little worrying whether I got the right app or not. My minor gripe with this is that even in the app there's no way that I could see to configure the buttons differently. If the game you're playing allows you to then that might work (I haven't tried it with a game that lets you configure the buttons yet personally) but even if you play a game that expects the a button on the right this seems to still tell it that the A button is on the bottom where it actually is on the controller and it's a bit confusing if your muscle memory is telling you something different. Could just be the game I was playing but having a way to configure the buttons in the app would be an easy fix in my opinion. Other than that this works really well. The spring motion of the controller makes it nicely fit any phone you have (though if you have a bulky protective case you might have to take it off first, mine just barely squeezes in but it hasn't popped out while I'm playing thankfully. It feels good to use with a good size for my smaller hands. The colors are nice too, though again I don't see any way to customize them (not a big deal, just a bummer).

This device feels much more natural than the others I have tested. The only negative is my phone slips a little, I know it is my case that is causing it so I can't complain about this device. I'm not an expert but I have tried COD mobil, asphalt 9, and a few other games and this controller after getting used to it is easy to recommend to others.

Very good controller. Use it in a combination with my Z fold 6. The ergonomics are confirmable. The trigger buttons are basically on and off. So for call of duty its great. But for a racing game where you can modulate the throttle, not so great. The analog sticks feel good, very comfortable placement also. Also one of the great features of this controller is that it works great with either apple or android. Battery last a good amount of time.

I found that this does make games like Fortnite MUCH more playable on a touchscreen device like the Samsung Galaxy. Having a physical controller for any game - especially one that counts on your reaction time - is going to be much better (my opinion). This also makes the emulators more enjoyable. Add that tot he fact that my screen is no longer cluttered by an overlay for controls and I get the entire screen to enjoy my games.I haven't had to charge it yet so excellent battery life so far. The RGB lighting isn't distracting and, in fact, makes playing in bed easier since I can see the controls. No overhead light on means happy wife. :)Why only 4 stars? I had a small issue connecting it the first time - it just absolutely refused to connect even though it was listed. I had to reboot the phone and the controller multiple times to get it to connect. It now sees it all the time BUT it has already dropped connection once randomly during play. So I am a little suspicious of the reliability of the controller's Bluetooth connection.
