Really love the cakes on this guy! You have to screw it to a table or sturdy surface for a great cake but it’s no problem for me. 10/10 and I appreciate the silicone on the hook to not scratch up any surfaces you screw it to. It travels easily as well and you can adjust the yarn bar slightly if needed.

For all my yarn lovers out there, you must buy! The quality is great and durable! Make them cakes! 😁

I’ve been crocheting for around 20 years now and this is definitely a great accessory to have. I find the cake style yarn so much easier to work with. It took a little fiddling to get it set up and stable but once I got it right it worked perfectly. It’s a bit of a learning curve to get the tension correct while winding the yarn but again, once you have the feel for it it’s like second nature. It is a little smaller than I expected but so far so good!

Good quality ball winder but can only wind small balls of yarn. So I would say performance is only so/so. It is easy to use. It is a smaller winder. It is only stable if it is connected to a table.

Clips and secures to almost any table top surface. Easy to use. Doesn’t make a lot of noise as you wind or rewind your material. Gives a nice tight wind.I’ve wound every bit of my yarn and cotton stash and haven’t had any issue.

I bought this one because of its plain and simple design. At the time of purchase, it was a little more expensive than some of the less attractive options. BIG MISTAKE. The yarn doesn't stay in the slots at all, the yarn ball would turn out messy, can only accommodate a small amount of yarn, the metal rod would wiggle around and never seemed to lock in place, and it made a loud popping noise with any kind of resistance. I kept thinking it was operator error. Well after a month and a half of frustration, TONS of yarn, and trying to problem solve my user error, I ordered another yarn spinner. BEST decision I ever made and I don't have any of the problems I experienced with this turd biscuit of a product. ** I ended up ordering the Knit Picks Hand Operated Yarn Ball Winder (purple)

I like to buy the pound of yarn from big twist and crocheting with an infant sized ball of yarn is just not the most practical so I got this and first of all, winding the yarn is just fun. I love the shape of the neat lil cakes when I'm done and they sit so perfectly in my yarn bowl when I'm using them.

Works fine as long as you know which setting to put the lever on and to not go too fast. I also recommend not using cheap yarn with this as it can knot quickly. But overall pretty good and easy to set up
