When I decided to get my sweet little pig, I made sure to read up for weeks before hand. How smart they are, how sweet, how quick they grow. Dozens of sites and articles and blogs. Not one person mentioned their snout is not only stronger than I can ever hope to be, but that they can cleverly learn to TURN ON SPIGOTS with them. How did I learn you may ask?Upon returning home from a day of errands I noticed my back yard was simply flooded. Everything was not only wet, but positively soaked and/or flooded. Quizzically, I found the water on and chided myself for forgetting to turn it off.Fast forward to the next day. Once again, I had been out running around and working for a few hours. Only to return to find a flooded yard again! I KNEW I hadn’t left it on. Suddenly the answer was staring me in the face. Quite literally. My pig was staring at me while holding the hose in her mouth and had paused mid splash to notice me After a moment she dropped it, then proceeded to flip down and roll in the amazing mud pit she created. We spent weeks putting bricks, pots, wrought iron discs etc on top of the lid that goes over the spigot in ground. Still she prevailed. Finally, in desperation I sought out “spigot locks”. When I say the angels came down and sang when this beauty arrived and was locked on, I am only half exaggerating. It was me. I sang. I sang a glorious victory tune that for 6 months now has stayed steady. She has finally given up even trying to get it off.Thank you for saving our bank account and this planet from extreme water waste. My pig, however, is not sending you well wishes. But rather a woeful look and a flump.

We had an issue with an ignorant neighbor, who believed our house, was full and free access water for everyone. At least that's what they claimed...despite living in a different house, and different property. When confronted they played dumb and acted like it was theirs and said that the water was everyones. They knew damn well what they were doing, as they would only sneak over at night to fill buckets of water. I asked them why they couldn't use their own water, and all they did was protest that despite the faucet being attached to OUR house, on OUR property, that it somehow belonged to them, because the water runs downhill...again I asked them, "why can't you use your own water?" and they claimed it was theirs, despite the obvious fact that it was not. The blatant lie was so infuriating that the very next day I ordered this. This should keep them from stealing water and running up our bill. They knew damn well what they were doing. Sad that we have to take these measures to prevent theft, but, overall, I'm glad this product works as described, and was very very easy to install. It doesn't come with it's own lock so you have to buy your own, but it's a small price to pay to not have your inconsiderate neighbors stealing from you, and acting like it's not a big deal

I work from home, and as I'm finishing up a call because the community landscaping crew doing their mowing and blowing on our cul-de-sac. My office is at the back of our house, windows only face the backyard, but the landscaping noise seems to go right thru my wall.As I'm sitting there writing up notes from the call, the mowing & blowing stops, but start hearing water running somewhere in the house. On again, off again. Thinking it's one of the toilets I proceed to check them. Nope. Not the toilets. Then the water cuts on again, runs for a good 30 seconds. That's when I realize that it's the outside hose bib running.I open the side door off the garage (which is right by the hose bib), and I'm looking at 4 of the landscapers, one of them holding my hose, filling up a large container. There is a moment of silence where I'm staring at the guy holding hose before I ask them what the *bleep* they are doing. There were a lot of "sorry, sorry" before one of them actually said, "we didn't think anybody was home." That's when the conversation got a little more heated. Apparently, they do this all the time because there is no water available on the cul-de-sac island. Our water is not free and is not paid for by the community. We pay premium price - one of the highest rates in the state. I'm NOT going to pay to water the cul-de-sac landscaping.I could have bought another security camera ($100 - $200) to catch them in the act or spend $20 on this valve lockout to slow down / prevent somebody from using (stealing) my water without my permission.Thing is tough, does what it needs to do. Very easy to use. I really liked that it was recycled plastic. Worth every penny.

Make sure the valve stem is long enough and the valve has enough clearance from the sprout. It has a very small hole on this valve lockout. Mine barely can fit it because the thin metal stem is very short below the bibb valve. I need to tug the lockout in one side before the other side can close. Some plastic also got scratched off around the small hole in order to get it to close completely with those holes in alignment. A little struggle, but it is closed completely. The 3 holes are not necessary because I will only put one lock on it, not 2 to 3 locks. It is plastic, so someone on the street really wants to get to my water, they can still do so by destroying the lockout easily by melting it using a lighter. It just creates more hassle for someone, so he/she will move on to the next house. It should serve the purpose, but it is pricey for a plastic lockout. It doesn’t even come with a lock. Hope it will last for a long time and won’t become brittle after constant exposure to summer heat and winter cold. Will update if there is any unusual wear and tear from normal use.
