i was skeptical that I would be satisfied with this product because many reviews complained that the snaps did not work; but they do snap together and stay snapped. If you have never manually installed snaps onto leather, I suggest you watch some videos found on the web discussing how to attach snaps onto leather. The instructions at the bottom of the product page on how to attach the snaps are not detailed, so some may not find it useful. Once you understand how it's done, I think you will be pleased because it's easy. You get about twice as many snaps compared to other snaps sold Amazon. This product is a winner!

My Bible came with a leather string to keep it closed. That has since broken off and I decided to replace it with a snap.I've never used, researched, or even thought about leather snaps before but I was able to figure this one out pretty easily and I think the results came out great. No installation instructions come with it but you can see them in the product photos above.It's a solid snap, secure, lots of colors, and overall a good product and value.

"0" for product; minus stars for wasted time and effort. 1. Metal is very soft and deforms easily - esp visible on the face; pounding leaves a center ridge with dents all around. Post on the face doesn't fit the back piece. The post is too long. There is literally not enough space for the bottom snap to engage when the two top pieces are put together. Tried to overcome this by pounding the post flat. The two pieces fit together (without fabric) and sort of snapped - loosely, wobbly, and not very many times. Perhaps the kit had mixed parts, some 201 or 503 instead of all 831. Regardless, the metal is too soft and the snap mechanism is too weak. Good quality snaps can be expensive, so maybe rivet jean buttons (or just metal shank buttons) or a heavy duty zipper would be a better option.
